Will GT4 Support Dial - Up Online?

Will Gran Turismo 4 support dial-up users online very well? I've heard that if they optimize the services for dail-up it won't be too bad, but how well will it work for dial-up? I don't have a network adapter yet but i will buy one if gran turismo 4 won't lag terribly or be a pain in the ass online. just wondering! :)
 
Sony have said that you must have broadband for GT4 online.
 
IMO That's a very, very good thing. It would be near impossible to link 6 players simultaneously and have a steady service without lag on dial up, not to mention the ppl who are going to act as "spectators" and watch the race. Big plus for me 👍
 
They might allow downloads for 56kers though? that wouldnt disturb online play.
 
triple has a point. I wonder how many people will be able to watch a race. All eyes on me :D
 
GT4 will be broadband only.

I can only imagine noobs on dial-up as they go crashing into the wall in their panda Corollas.
 
Damn, thats a good and bad thing for me, good thing is, if your playing against someone it won't lag, but that means I'm gonna have to sacrifice something to my parents to get highspeed internet.
 
^just cause we have dial- up doesnt mean we're bad drivers

i'm pretty darn good if i do say so myself

Mine? The vote ended a tie. It doesn't matter anyways, the mod's weren't going to implement a system anyways. It's right here. They have been on top of the job, though. I'm gonna report this thread too.

Total NOOB question but you say Broabband only. What if i have cable or T1
 
It's all considered broadband. Cable, t1, t2, dsl, anything faster than dial-up.
 
yeah, yeah anything > than 56k dialup
 
Good becuase a friend of mine said that PS2 only suport BB and im like that includes canle and hes like nah and im like **** you and your gay XBOX.
 
It ended because a system was implemented where if you try to create a new thread in the GT4 section it comes up with a Search First page with a search box and a link to the real new thread page.

I will just say - officially broadband may be a requirement but I'd love to hear a way to enforce that.

As you can all see, the question that was the subject of this thread has been answered.
More than once too.

Also, I imagine that a simple search for "gt4 broad band only" or "gt4 dial-up" would have yielded some sort of helpful results.

Please try and remember the search button next time.
