Okay so i live in GA as yall can see (hmmf.. yall lol) anyways, i pre-ordered GT4 a few days ago and get it on the 23rd, and i was curious if the driving force pro is really worth buying? i dont have alot of money seeing that im only 16 and dont have a car or a job or really.. anything but i do have enough to buy the wheel.. so is it really worth it?

p.s. not only for PS2, but also for the PC will it be worth the full 150$?

stuck on this one :indiff:

don't buy it for $150 - it is cheaper a lot of places online - I've seen it for around 100-110 but I don't have a link for you. Also, next time please search to see if your question has already been answered...a lot of people get ticked off seeing the same question posted over and over.

And welcome to GT Planet! Enjoy your long, addicting stay :)

Just bought my DFP and it has opened up a new universe of driving for me, sounds dramatic but true!

Being disabled in both arms I can only drive an auto in real life and longed for a manual. But this wheel has made a big difference on the ps2 - gears how do they work!
What a difference changing do into corners to balance the car instead of braking and stopping wheel spin on the way out!

Still need a lot of practice but well worth the time, makes me want to adapt a real car, only prob is the clutch.

And no I can't reach L1 R1 for manual on the controller!

My friend has made a stand for the wheel, will post picture soon

Get one if you can afford it, or trade in your mum or something!

hey, cheers for the web site , i couldnt find an english site selling dfp's for ages, and for that price. im gonna buy now, hey could u tell me what the peddles are like. cheers ffor the site any way 👍 👍 👍

hey could u tell me what the peddles are like.

Peddles are very good, brake peddle has two springs and feels progressive and the Throttle has a nice feel to it. Had no problems with them as other people have in the posts I have read in this forum.

The Force feedback can be altered in the game, I tended to use the lowest setting to begin with but as you get used to the Force Feedback you can up the settings.
Good Luck.
Phil Upton 👍

Yeah, thanks for that site aswell, people keep saying its too expensive, get a part time job, will take month or so and you've got it. i'll be investing in one as soon as i get hold of a cash card i can use on the internet. Thanks again

ok so yall say its worth it.. but not the full 150$?

well not ebay lol i found some on ebay for like 50$... um.. wonder if they work lol

ok i'll take a look around and try to get one near 100 ;)
thanks

hum diddle - diddle, the cat done a piddle...

I don't know whether to buy it or not, £100 or so seems a little steep...

Can someone on this site who has got it please tell us all what it is like in comparison to a real car

As close as you can get, being a person in England with a games console.

Just make sure you have something that DOESNT MOVE to bolt it down to.

The force feedback is strong, and that means you cant use the wheel on your lap.
You need a table, or frame or race seat, but you must have something to attach it to.

Not worth buying it otherwise.

Trust me, i know.

And i love mine!

hmmm do u think i could get something to attach it too that is small enough to fit in a 15x20 dorm room w/ beds and desks etc? would just a cheap collapsible table work?

does anybody know if there is going to be a deal anywhere that if you buy both the dfp and gt4 it will be cheaper? I'm thinking of buying the dfp and i want to get it this week but i'm thinking they might have a deal on it next week when gt4 is released.

Going ever so slightly OT,
If I were to buy a DFP from Amazon et al. it would cost me around US$100, which is around AU$140 (depending on the market at the time) In contrast, the cheapest I can get it here in OZ is AU$250. Big difference!
But the US stores wont ship it OS. :grumpy:
Does anyone know a retailer that can ship it at the much nicer price?

this place: http://www.ictcompany.com ships internationaly, but they no longer have the DFP I guess. They used to sell refurbished DFP's for $55 US. you could try contacting them and see if they have any that they are not advertising on their web site.

Thanks for that. Ive emailed them to see if they have any DFP's. If not, the Driving Force seems to be ok?
