I was going to buy a DFP, but after reading some stuff, i am really concerned, because it's not that cheap...
My major concern is that the wheel does not returns to center by itself, and that the shifter is to sensitive, that sometimes returns itself to previous gear...
I don't like these things..
IS there a rumor or news of an "updated" DFP, or something like that..
How much does these things bothers you when you drive.. And also, is it well made, i mean will it last long,?? like the DF i have, which i ve heard last over 4, 5 years..

The wheel does return itself to center, and my shifter at least does not flick itself back into the previous gear.

One thing about the shifter though is that it does feel really lightweight and flimsy in comparison to the rest of the wheel. Other than that the wheel feels really well made and much more solid than the DF.

There was problems with pedals on early units but they were replacable under warranty and newer ones no longer have the problem so if you buy new you should be ok,or if buy used then you should be careful.

I would highly recomend this wheel to any GT player, oh and i assure you i've heard no rumors of an update this will likely only happen upon the release of GT5 (a loooooooooooooooooooooooong way from now)

DFP is very well made. the shifter is a bit flimsy but it works fine. the click of the shifter is a bit "toy-ish" but not too bad.

the wheel shaft is suspended on medal bearing so everything is very smooth. the wheel does return to center but even if it didn't, who cares. i'm driving, so i can center up the wheel. :)

pedal problem fixes are well documented so you should be ok!

But i see that problem with brake pedal wont brake properly, that i have to open the base and then do some tricky stuff, is this corrected with that new version??
I mean i saw many problems with this wheel, is that only for that first version, or also with the second one...??

I don't think that following the advice in this link is particularly 'tricky':

It's actually a very simple procedure because even I was able to do it. I also took the time to phone Logitech and complain about their 'shoddy' pedals.

They asked me to fax them a copy of my receipt, and I now have a brand new set of pedals just sitting in a box in my closet. The 'fix' that I posted above cleared up the brake/throttle problems and I am still using the original pedals.

I haven't had another problem in many months of game play, and I have an EXTRA set of pedals in case something goes wrong.
