Will this game ever get challenging?

After breezing through every license test and everything in the national categories in vastly underpowered cars, I thought maybe the international categories might offer an upgrade in AI or something which might challenge me for once. Yet somehow they're still going ~20 seconds a lap slower than their real-life counterpart car would be going around the same track, and I'm zooming by passing cars on the outside despite being 150pp down and on worse tires.

Does it ever get more interesting than this, or do I basically have to drive a Prius in every race to have any sort of challenge?

Also, are license tests ever going to be anything but first-try-gold or are they always going to be about 3 seconds easier than they ought to be?
Legit question(no sarcasm or malice): Do you drive with aids of any kind?

You can always use stock Stratos without any nanny aid. I bet you'll spend more time watching not to spin than racing . It is quite challenging :D

[edit]
HARDCORE MODE: Use wheel , all assistance off (incl.abs...) , turn off hud, cockpit wiev , everytime you hit something with more than 80kmh end race because you totaled car . In consequence send car to scrapyard and buy new .And no 20mil glitchin.

The S events are far more challenging than anything else in the game. Mostly because of the high tire wear combined with the way the AI tends to not use the tires much at all.

One thing that can be challenging is the license test online record books. It can be fun trying to get to the top of your friends list there, depending on who your friends are of course:)

I agree.

There's no way to make the AI to be perfectly competitive for all the players.

If the AI is lapping in 1:30, then players who are able to lap in 1:29 will still find it easy because in ten laps he will be ten seconds in front.
But for the players who are only able to do 1:31 will find it frustating because they simply can't beat and can't progress the game.

Difficulty setting is also useless, if you set the AI a LITTLE too hard then you won't be able to beat them, if you set the AI a LITTLE too easy you will find it TOO easy. and your car choice also matter.

Disagree, I was able to find a happy medium with other games with a difficulty setting. You know a challenge to make you push harder and have more fun playing.

These cars that drive like there on ice is far from realistic... although people in my state drive like they will slide lol Louisiana voted worst drivers in the country and its true!

Ok so the "answers" to the simple question in the OP are:

*If you've played GT before then you should know it's no more or less challenging than any other racing game. (complete and utter hogwash)
*Quit taking max PP cars into the races. (which you've clearly stated you are doing just the opposite)
*Go online.
*Set a fast time in a Time Trial.
*This is another whining thread, move along everyone.
*Get off the forum, and go online.
*Go play iRacing.
*It is not up to the game to challenge you, it is up to you to challenge the game. ( that is an all-timer right there.)
*The only real challenge with racing games is online. (have these guys ever played any other racing titles?)
*This is an "elitist" rant.
*Join the WRS (online) then we'll see just how good you are. (so helpful, huh?)
*The game overall is tailored toward the "masses". (With no difficulty settings like every other "game for the masses", but we won't mention that.)
*Career mode is merely an appetizer, and nothing more. (wow)
*The challenge begins when the game ends.. :nervous:
*Start doing Time Trials
*Join a Race Series (online) and race humans rather than AI that, no matter how fast it can go, presents no real competition. (Are these guys even reading the amazing, mind-melting statements which they type?)
*Even if they make a super fast ai people will complain because it's unrealistic, unfair, impossible to beat, or something like that.
*No ai can offer a real challenge. They could(?) make perfect Vettel ai, but thats probably a waste of time in PD's minds.
*There is no way to make the AI "challenging" without hating the game.
*Online is where challenges are. Plain and simple. (yeah, there is something simple going on here, alright)
*I just don't think there is any way the developers can program the AI to match the full spectrum of player's skills from beginner to pro-level. (you mean like difficulty settings which are usually named exactly like that?)
*There's no way to make the AI to be perfectly competitive for all the players. (not with one global setting, of course not!)
*Difficulty setting is also useless. (holy ba-jeebers)

*"I too am breezing through all those, but you don't see me complaining about it. It is what it is, just deal with it and play on."

Oh my lord, I must apologize to you jimbo11, for this poor treatment by the members of this forum. I hope that you stick around, as there are many of us who wish to see this racing game live up to its billing, including the marketing trailers that show... umm... races. And we will bring these matters up in a public forum, as I believe this to be our right and duty as GT fans. Some of you clowns are the reason that this game is perpetually behind, in so many ways..

Add my statement also, jimbo11 it's difficult to make happy everyone. For me the AI get challenging when you pick a 500pp car with SH vs 600pp AI car with SS. But i must agree with the other members of GTPlanet, whining thread we already have too much, please post your whine there.

I too am finding GT6 to be a heck of a lot easier than GT5. But, like others have said...it is what it is. Perhaps Kaz responded to the masses who said GT5 was too hard? Maybe people's problem with online racing is the waiting.

You could always try Skip Barber's Racing School.

the real challenge online is to find a good game.

Have you guys played or seen Forza5? Drivatar? Oh right, the PS3 has not enough Ram for good AI i forgot sorry.
