Will UK PS3 run Japanese GT1 CD?

I made a Japanese Master account and was hoping there would be someway for it to work but I can't get it working.

I have activated games and videos on my PS3 60GB Model

I love how the Japanese GT1 CD looks its cool I think!

Seeing as the PS3 is region free, I assume it will. However, I don't have any PS1 game discs that are NTSC to test it on.

Just found out that only PS3 games are region free, and PS1 games still retain their region lockout. So you can't play it on a PS3 i'm afraid.

If I were to buy a PS3 from Japan, I would find that my current PS1 games would not work on that PS3 because it does not accept PAL region games.

If I were to get a PAL PS3 from the UK, my games would work perfectly fine with it.

Edit: PS2 games are also affected by this, too.

It's programming/chips, done/made by Sony that makes region lockout.
