Will we see new tracks soon?

After returning from a self imposed three month break from GT5, I found myself still somewhat bored with it's track list. Maybe it's because I've driven the majority of tracks in past Gran Turismo's. Maybe other racing games have spoiled me, I'm not sure.

Yes driving Nurburgring is amazing, but I tend to enjoy hot lapping, and as I'm usually short on time, a seven minute plus track is not ideal. I do like the other tracks, but I feel a few more a needed. Spa (which seems possible) would be a great addition and I feel it's hard-to-believe omission almost proof we will see DLC tracks in the future.

Being away for so long, I feel somewhat out of the loop. Has there been any news on DLC tracks? Are they a very likely possibility?

No DLC but check the seasonal events, Each has one race on a track creator created track, Its not exactly Spa or Brands Hatch but its better than nothing :)

To be honest i can't ever see any DLC tracks. I think it's the same with cars, too. You'll only see new liveries (such as the recent Camaro Edge) as opossed to completely new models. PD seems too obsessed with using the same old tracks from GT1 onwards rather than recognising the fanbase' desire for new material. The fact that they got rid of Motegi shocked me but i was even more shocked that it wasn't replaced with anything notable. Why so few tracks compared with GT4? (yes that old subject again!)
My point is, if they've removed tracks and not replaced them, why would they add them at a later date as DLC? I love GT5, it's a great game but subjects such as this remind me of just how much better it could have been if they had given the game more content and a greater structure to use that content.

Can we at least get Seattle and El Capitan back?

Even in GT4 quality, I'd love to drive them again.

I think that's the whole point of removing or omitting tracks before release - when interest starts to wane Polyphony can release some new tracks, charge money if they wish etc.

If GT5 had all the tracks we wanted present from launch, it wouldn't leave room for "new" content, or to make money from DLC. While I don't agree with this technique, I'd say it is the most likely.

There is a track creator, you can make some fantastic stuff there.

Very true, but it will never make up for not having Motegi, Spa, Silverstone, Donington, Sebring, Zandvoort, Bathurst, Macau, Dijon Prenois and so on.

I just see no evidence that there're DLC tracks on the horizon. Sure one can argue that Polyphony Digital has had a strategy of withholding content, but I can't understand why quite a few of the tracks already in GT5 look really sub-par (compared to what the ps3 is capable of) and remain so after all the patches to the game.

^ This exactly! Just give us the old tracks back! El Capitan, Citta di Aria, Costa di Amalfi, Hong Kong, Paris, Tahiti Maze, Seattle and Pikes Peak.

They have them sitting on a shelf somewhere gathering dust while we could be racing them seven ways from Sunday! 👍

Your post exposes a deeper problem. Polyphony seemed to have uncharacteristically missed/left out a lot of things. Whether this was intentional or lazy, I can't say, but one things for certain - new tracks (or old, as the case may be) would go along way to maximizing GT5s potential.

I can envision four additional corners in seven new variations added to Cape Ring as DLC. Tracks are coming...

I would expect them to release something mid-June, so they have something to announce at E3. This would steal away some attention from FM4, which is what they should be aiming for.

I don't think so. All in all GT5 has few actually new tracks and those must have taken months of work to model. I don't know why but the whole DLC just doesn't fit with GT5 and PD as a whole.

I agree, those 2 tracks were fantastic and i miss them, especially Seattle which was a classic genious track design.

I would love DLC cars and tracks but I have a doubtful feeling about them, we will likely not see any. If we were to get any then these would be high on my list.

Spa
Road America
Silverstone

Doubt it. That would imply they have bothered to look at the competition and/or even be aware it exists. Based on the late of innovation where it matters in GT5 they clearly have not.

The only reason i got shift 2, was for Bathurst and GT1 cars. Can you believe that!!? What i reckon PD should of done, is made a better track maker, then its random generating one. Instead of given figures, place down points, and be able to customize the path between the points, the amount of degrees on the curve, and length, then be able to change the topography. Then we would be able to create more precise race tracks, and copy official circuits, but why didn't they do this instead? Don't tell me there are copyright laws to this?

I personally see this as a possibility. A slim one but one none-the-less. What about the cars that were awarded GT trophies at SEMA etc? It was noted before game release that premium cars took 6 months to model. Well that would fit. So a few new cars possibly and maybe one track. If we're lucky. If.

Wishful thinking I know.

Don't expect any new tracks soon. Maybe at E3, but I kind of doubt it. I hope they could maybe bring some tracks back from GT4 into GT5 though, there's more of a chance of that than PD developing a whole new track.
