I had a homegroup with an HTPC connected via LAN, and a desktop connected via WLAN. NOTHING changed. I came home today, saw no computer in the homegroup from either computer and now I can't for the life of me to get either computer to show up. If I create a homegroup with the stupid password on one computer the other computer won't ever see it and it asks me to create another homegroup. Both are running Windows 7 64bit.

had the same problem the other day (maybe update releated?)

Delete on one pc the homegroup, or if you deleted both , recreate an homegroup on 1st pc.
Restart Pc1 and 2 (normally only 2nd or restart network card, but this is to be sure). And normally after the restart Pc2 should see the Pc1 homegroup. click join, enter pw, done.
That is how i got it working again.
If you don't restart the network, hte pc will not see the newly created network
