ok im trying to view a video from a website but since i have dial up i really cant. it will play about 5 seconds then buffer then it keeps doing that. so is there any way around that? anything i can change in media player so i can watch it. i dont think theres a way but if someone knows of one please tell me.

Can you download it? (In the past, I would've said, "Just download it", but lately the streaming servers have gotten smart and don't allow that.)

You know how internet video streams (viewing videos from a website) works... right? Basically, the player downloads a little portion of the video and plays that while another portion is downloaded. This is called buffering. Basically, your connection isn't fast enough for the video stream and it's playing the video faster then what it can download another portion. It's not WMP's fault, it's your dialup connection.

See if they have a lower quality stream more suited to your connection.

Use Net Transport, it can download the streaming movies and then you can play them off your computer later. It is a download manager too, so you can pause and resume it at a later date.

EDIT: I take too long to post these things, people keep beating me.

eh its a video for a school thing. they only have the one link. when i try and down load it, it only saves the link. ill try that net transport thing.
