I bought my 1985 JS550 back in 2007 and I have been riding it a lot. Its been virtually trouble free ever since I bought it. This past year the body has been getting kinda rough, and I have been craving more power.

There is a jet ski forum that I frequent, and the 550/650 swap is getting very popular over there, so I decided to partake on that journey. Heres what I started with, my 80's painted js550 with a milled head:

The bottom was one of the main problems:

Then bodywork started, this is going to be very abbreviated with pictures because I dont want to post all of my pics.

Use the edit button for your posts, no big deal. But I have to admit nice job on the restoration. Is it a gift for someone (like your wife) or are you doing it for fun?

Then the color gets laid down! Its a house of Kolor color called Limetime

A video of the beast firing.

Let me know what you think!

I think I want that Lime Time on my wheels, that's what I think.

Thing is gonna be hella fun on the water!

If that hole on the right side of the rear end isn't exhaust...what is it? Bilge?

thats where the fire extinguisher goes. There is a cap that covers the hole and holds it in.
