Hi folks. I just bought the Sony Wireless Headset (the small on-ear thingy) and when I go into the PS3 menu to adjust it's output the volume only allows me to go up to 3, positions 4 & 5 are greyed out. Does anyone know why this should be?

tends to be like that. The playstation eye does the same thing. Maybe because then the sound is not distorted being to loud. :)

Thanks guys, I was beginning to think there was something I was missing or something I was doing wrong. I only managed to get it working once last night and the other racers said I was very quiet and that got me thinking.

I have a non-Sony Bluetooth headset and I can select setting 4 and 5 but honestly don't hear a great increase in volume. 3 works perfectly for me so you're not missing out on anything ;)

It seems to vary by device. I can adjust the volume on my USB SOCOM 1 mic but not on my wireless SOCOM:Confrontation mic - though I can mute and adjust speaker volume on my wireless itself. But I can't do anything to tune out the TV or music with it.

I have the Official big sony Headset. And that goes up to 5 :) So I wonder why it is sometimes stuck at 3? Raised eyebrow to that one.

It's just Sony trying to save you from all the kids screaming online. Prevents liability. :D

Yeah got the same big sony headset. I think it auto volumizes. And in setting it has the option to turn HQ on and off. Think it sonys way of integrating their products to eachother. No need to worry.
