Wireless router trouble

I have a WAG54G Linksys Wireless router. Every 15 mins the laptops with USB dongles lose connection with the router and most of the time cannot find the router again. I have upgraded the firmware but still to no avail. The signal strength is very good but still they disconnect. If anyone has anything that they suggest please post. I'm ripping my hair out at the moment. I'm running windows xp sp1 on all.

Sound's weird. After it loses the signal do you look at the router. Is the router resetting itself. Some Linksys routers have been known to do that and the only way to fix that is to exchange it. Maybe it has a short, so it is unstable.

No the router stays on and the PC that is connected via a network cable stays fine. I figured there msut be something wrong with the signal. Might be my cordless phone. Have to see how it goes......If it doesnt resolve itself its going back to the manufacturer.

We have cordless phones that operate on 2.4 GHZ in our house and that is the same frequency as the router and we never have trouble. We have those phones where you have a base phone with a phone line and then you can have up to four other phone's around the house and they just need to be plugged in, all phones operate off the base.

How old is the router. Sometimes the antenna are faulty, or if you bend them up and down, or side to side a lot it ruins the wire that sends the signal inside of the antenna.

Is the router just resetting. If it resets it doesn't turn off, it just will loose signal for a little. After it cuts out do you right click on the little network icon with two computers in your taskbar and choose the find network connection option. If you click that does your network show up?

and choose find network can it find your network, after your network resets itself.
