I’m the developer of Wisp, a free Windows companion for Forza Horizon 6. It brings together a customizable HUD, tune viewing, gameplay clipping, driving analysis, and a drift-angle gauge, and more.

Read and compare tunes—including locked tunes

The Tune menu shows the settings fitted to your current car:

  • Tires, gearing and alignment
  • Antiroll bars, springs and damping
  • Aero, brakes and differential

Current-car tune reading supports Steam and Xbox app/Microsoft Store on PC, with the game’s units set to imperial. Locked-tune reading is supported on Steam.

Save named snapshots, view them later with the game closed, compare your current setup against a saved tune or compare two saved setups. You can also attach a tune snapshot to a recorded run so you know which settings produced that result.

This is a viewer: it doesn’t unlock editing or apply changes to Forza.

Make the HUD yours

Choose analogue or digital layouts, including combustion and EV layouts, with gauges for:

  • Speed, RPM and gear
  • Power, torque and boost
  • Tire temperatures and G-force
  • Drift angle, with target-angle guidance

Move and resize supported gauges, adjust colors and opacity, choose backgrounds and save different profiles. Use the HUD over Forza or move it onto another monitor as a dashboard.

Wisp also supports wheel-indicated speed, so wheelspin can affect the speed reading, plus configurable smoothing and power/torque peak markers.

Save gameplay clips without installing OBS

Clips
keeps recent footage ready to save. Use a button or shortcut, browse the thumbnail gallery, watch clips inside Wisp and export the ones you want.

Recording options include:

  • Length: 30 seconds to 5 minutes, in 30-second increments
  • Resolution: 360p through 2160p/4K
  • Frame rate: 30 or 60 FPS
  • Quality: adjustable compression, plus a separate lossless video mode
  • Audio: Forza only, or all app and system audio
  • Shortcuts: configurable save and recording-toggle hotkeys, with optional feedback sounds
  • Reminders: optional dashboard notices for new clips
  • Export: choose a folder and filename through Windows Save As

The default is one minute at 1080p60. Saving keeps a clip in Wisp’s library; exporting creates the external MP4.

See where you gained or lost time

Record driving telemetry and compare runs side by side or with overlaid graphs. Review speed, RPM, driver inputs, engine data and tire behavior, then export CSV data, graph images or shareable Wisp run files.

Lap Review connects your recorded driving line to the telemetry. Move through a lap, inspect a corner or select a section to compare speed, braking, throttle pickup, shifts and time against another lap. You can pin a compatible benchmark and optionally save completed laps automatically.

The Live Map and Lap Delta beta learns the circuit from a completed lap and shows your progress against your previous or session-best lap in supported modes.

There’s also performance shift guidance in beta for supported Steam combustion cars, calibrated to your car and tune.

FAQ

Is Wisp free?

Yes. The official Windows installer is free for personal, noncommercial use.

Does it work with Game Pass?
Wisp supports FH6 on Steam and the Xbox app/Microsoft Store on Windows PC.

Does it work on an Xbox console?
This version is a Windows PC app.

Can I change or apply a locked tune?
No. Wisp lets you inspect supported fitted tune settings and save a reference copy. Changes still happen in Forza.

Is quality 100 the same as lossless?
No. Quality 100 still uses lossy compression. The separate lossless mode requires a supported NVIDIA encoder and preserves video after scaling and HDR-to-SDR conversion. Audio remains compressed; files can be large and player compatibility varies.

What does clipping capture?
Clipping captures the Forza display in fullscreen or borderless fullscreen, including visible HUD elements and notifications. Audio defaults to Forza only. Microphone input is not recorded.

Do I need a second monitor?
No. It’s optional—the HUD can stay on your game screen.

Does Wisp upload my driving telemetry?
No. Driving telemetry stays on your PC.

Can I be banned from using Wisp?
No. Wisp does not modify any game files or inject any code into the game or respective services. It is strictly read-only and carries zero risk of anticheat detection.

Feedback and reproducible bug reports are welcome here or through GitHub Issues.
