Ive finally reached 50 percent of the game. :p ;)
After being away from the game for so long, its nice to be playing the game again and improving even more.
Thought Id share the good news. :) :D
Misnblu
Oh, and that C-5 Vette that you win, it sucks. Ive got better cars in my garage. Now for that Formula One car. Mwahahahahh.

Hey thats great. Keep going 100 percent feels even better.

 that brings back the memories of old GT3 Days.....

Well Done :D

Hey! 50%!! :)

75% is the next thing...cant remember what car you win then...

75%=787B!

Congrats, and f1king is speaking the truth. It feels so good to be completely done...then you can work on your drifting ;) :burnout:

Its a lot harder to get the rest of the 50 percent.
Ive got the rallying to do, the endurance series and some of the toughest racing Ive ever witnessed. ;)
I'm winning money right now so I can get the f/094 car from a friend, then I can be more competitive with some of the races. If not, Ill just try to buy some cars to be competitive.
Its tough going, but will try for the 100 percent. GT2, I completed the 97 percent.

Congrats on the 50%. It is a milestone. one I just recently passed as well. (somewhere in the high 50% now)

You're about to face more challenging opponents, and more involved racing. However the F1 won't make it more competitive, you'll just blow away the competition.

I'm being hypocritical, but there are so many more enjoyable cars out there. Try running the Japan championship in Amateur with an RX-8. Give it a chip, oil change and medium slicks. 15 laps that will get the heart pumping. I'm hypocritical because on my previous game, I have 3 F094/S's. One with 2300miles, one with 1200miles, and one with 100+ miles.

This time through, I've got a miata with 200+ miles, a Mine's with 100+ miles, and a Lancer EVO with 200+ miles. Each one is stock, and I've definately enjoyed the game more this time through.

Best wishes on the next 50%

AO

Thanks man.
I dont really like to "cheat" with more power of better cars, Ive just got some cars that are just keeping up with the lead car.
With an honest 82 percent win ratio, I want to keep that as much as possible. Its great bragging rights. ;)
Right now with the races Im doing, I need something that will keep up with the AI cars as they are quite fast and follow good lines with great speed.
Im not the best, but will hopefully become better to beat the game honestly. If not, there is always round two. :)

THanks Der Alta. :D

Well, I'm at a whopping 17% or so, and I'm trying to be very careful with the toys I choose. I've actually acquired a number of cars recently and I'm really trying to minimize the upgrades I do. My trusty (and highly modified) Evo VI has so far taken all comers except for the Super Speedway Enduro. I'm also trying to put race miles on my Clio racer, which handles well but is not a horsepower monster. If those two won't cut the mustard, out comes the red ZZII (stock except for super slicks). That will likely be my Polyphony Digital weapon after I've run all the Amateur races I have cars for.

Actually, I just won a bone-stock WRX wagon, which I am going to keep as stock as possible and run the Boxer Spirit series. I'm looking forward to it.

Heck yeah Neon. Sounds like youve got it all planned out, wish I was so organized. ;)
Hey one more thing, Ive noticed your on the neon.org, I just joined a couple of weeks aga and seems like a pretty good site.
Only thing, I got on to by one of the moderators for posting a non Neon picture on a Neon board, kinda got to me.
I figured domestic was domestic and was just showing off my car to the ppl there. :D I havent posted since then as I felt unwelcomed by the administrator there. :(
Just thought Id let you know.
Oh and good luck in achieving the 50 percent mark. Your in easy territory right now so good luck. :D
Misnblu

Oh jeez, AO, you scared me... I was wondering why you were so good (and do all of those fantastic write-ups), and yet only at 50%... then I read the rest of your post and realized this was your second time around. ;)

Hmmm. Yeah, I'm one of the Admins over at neons.org. I'll PM you about that rather than take up space here.

I am trying to approach this in an organized way, though I made some mistakes at the beginning. I'm not as thorough or as organized as Der Alta! I'm actually kinda disappointed that I'm less than 20% done and I already have half a million credits and a lot of cars. It should be more like real racing - a continuous struggle to be competitive and to stay in business.

I admit to having done the "free upgrades" memory card trick on two of my cars, totalling about 200,000 cr. I don't think I'll do that again.

PS - I never did get around to congratulating you on 50% completion. Way to go!

Actually it's my third time through. I still think that 50% is more of a milestone than the 75% is. Based on what you have to learn to get to 50% as compared to what you need to get to 75%. The last 5-10% are probably the most rewarding. the first 50 you learn, the last 5 you apply that knowledge to the fullest.

I hadn't considered myself a good player (maybe a decent one) as I spend time comparing my times with others here. I have improved considerably since first starting way back when. Thanks for the compliment. (Have been meaning to try out OLR though...). I've considered you one of the more knowledgeable people here and always found your answers well said.

Always glad to know that the Info (Write-ups) I post does come of use to someone.

Till later,
AO

Awww, group hug time!
:smilewink
Actually, I read nearly all of whatever the pair of you post, since you seem intent on playing the game, not just winning it, and you both seem to notice the details. It's nice to compare thoughts - is there a good place to compare lap times?

Neon:
You can join our group hug... :D

I've been comparing my times at gt3times as well as checking on some of the challenges here at GTplanet

Hearing stories of 52-53 second runs around midfield makes me think that some people have serious skill or serious time on their hands.

Erm, if I recall correctly, the ZZII doesn't count for the PD cup, due to its racing tranny and customizable suspension... ;)

Even thoug I'm not at the last stage yet, I'll agree on the first part... you learn a lot going to 50%... :D

*Sigh* Do I really have to tell you who posted this?

Oh jeez, you're probably still way better than me... I haven't even passed one single Time Trial yet! :o Then again, I haven't dedicated a whole lot of time to them yet...

Don't make me...
Thanks for the compliment.
Yur welcome! :p

AAAA OOOOO
I've considered you one of the more knowledgeable people here and always found your answers well said.
Thank you. I'm not necessarily knowledgable though... I'm just more willing to look up stuff (GameFAQs). And as for the latter part of your sentence, I simply appreciate decent English. ;)

Aw, finally... this post is by neon_duke... :D

Oh boy, here we go again...

 ... lol ...

I guess I'm going to have to start the Time Trials, and take them in small doses like medicine. So far I haven't even looked at them. I'm also only about halfway through my S license, as well.

Gotta take the bad with the good, or I'll never get 100%...

Good idea. ;) As it is right now, I'm going to have to do it in bulk. :p BTW, the S license is much easier than the Time Trials... so enjoy the license tests while you can. :D

The time trials are an absolute bear. My wife thought I finally slipped my rocker when I passed tahiti maze and commenced with my victory dance. Made my day. My complex string victory dance was a site to be seen.

An extremely rewarding piece of the 100% puzzle though. I took them out first thing so I wouldn't have to worry about them. a combination of rage and ecstasy when you finally nail one.

BTW, I just had to do this...

Can you say palindrome? :D

Heheheheh, that's kinda funny.

I just realized I have almost 400 posts a little over a month registered here. Weigh that against my postcount over at www.neons.org, where I'm an Admin, fer cryin out loud - which is about 460 since New Years (when we relaunched the boards with new software).

I've been spending too much time playing with two-dimensional cars, I guess!

This thread forgot about the group hug thing. lol
Heres my hug- there. :p ;)
Ive been going everywhere in the game, from doing the arcade racing, time trials, to the super license.
Heck, I just got my first bronze in the s class license and was elated. It was the Midfield and faired a decent time in only a few tries at it. I wish I could say the same on the other tests.
I hate half the cars and the ones I do like are sucky for cars. No handling, tires or anything that I can relate to. lol :thatsodd:
The time trials are just as hard and cant figure out if you are supposed to come in first place to beat it or any of the other times-1,2 or third position. Either way, second is the best I can do so far on any of them. Im just crappy. :D
Neon, I just got my 500th post here after a long absence from the board and am finally moving up in the ranks again. ;)
Thanks for the PM too.
I want the s licence so I can do the polyphany race for the f1 car.
Wish me luck.

Heh, I haven't been moving too fast, even though I make an effort to come here everyday...

BTW AO, do you work long hours or something? I notice that you registerd before me, but obviously you don't seem to have a lot of time to come here, though all of your posts are top quality. ;)

have you done the seatle reverse With the GT-40. I retried it more times on that than the complex string TT

Oh yeah with some close to bronze times.
I love the car and the sound of the car. It rocks and too bad I dont have one in my garage. :D
Ill have the patience to keep practicing and not going to something else for not getting a bronze for license. ;)
The gt40 in the s license reminds me a lot of the gt40 in ps2, loved that one too.
Later.

Youth Cycler:

I do work long hours. I usually arrive at work at 7:00am, and leave between 5:30 and 6:00pm. Plus I take my laptop home at night and the weekends to read through meeting minutes and do additional work. Leaves me about 3-4 hours per WEEK to play GT3. Lately, my wife has been working on Saturday, so that gives me an additional 4-5 hours.

I tend to only give input on topics that need it. My post count has been increasing at a faster point recently though. What's odd is that I've never played GT or GT2.

So I have no reference to previous games.

lol... me neither! In fact, I've never owned a Playstation before I got my PS2... :slaphappy

My only real time to play is after the evening chores are done and everybody else goes to bed. Which means, like AO, that I only get to play 3-4 hours per week.

And I never owned a console before March of this year. I heard alot about GT2, but never played it, not even in Best Buy...
