This topic is about car collectors and car museums. If you know any great museums or great car collectors ANYWHERE in the world, this is the discussion about them.
I don't know too many, but I do know that here in America, Jay Leno is perhaps the biggest car collector here in America. That "Tank Car" of his is featured in Gran Turismo 4. But he owns a whole lot of automobiles in his airplane hangars.
In terms of museums, how many of you seen the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction from this year? If you seen or heard about what happened from this year's show, you'll know one person bought an Oldsmobile concept car from the 1950s or 1960s, selling for three million dollars! The dude wanted to have it in a museum he's making. I don't know if it is up and running or not, I'm not sure.
One museum I DO know about is the Honda museum in Tochigi, Japan. People who really know about Honda know that Honda started out in motorcycles before stepping up to four-wheelers. Their racing resume has gone from superbike racing, to the Indy Racing Leauge, JGTC, JTCC, to their Le Mans efforts with the class-winning Honda NSX, Dakar racing bikes, to even their Formula One efforts... they've been almost everywhere. And this museum shows of their motorsports efforts and even some other classic automobiles.
Sounds simple, huh? Well, what are your favorite car collectors and car museums?
