The Chevy Cavalier is definitely the worst. It seems that there are two Cavaliers for every person that live in my town. Only 25% of them actually run though.

How can you not like the Pacer? It's so pathetic looking that it's almost cool.....almost, but not really.

Awful quality, with already dreadful handling (thanks to the suspension which dated back to the '40s) transfored to true evil by the heavy 6 cylinder, and early 70's English electrics. The gearbox had an endearing feature of selecting first AND reverse at the same time, destroying itself in the process.

I'm glad to see the infamous yugo made it!

I once heard a story about a guy who actually owned one of these things. He hated it so much that he left it in the worst part of his city with all the doors unlocked and the keys IN the ignition, yet nobody stole it.

"Worst cars of all time" is WAY too harsh for most of those cars. 1978 Accord? Those things were selling so fast Honda couldnt make enough of them. The Fiero? Maybe not the most reliable car ever built, but it was mid engined, performed pretty well, looked good, and was affordable too... certainly it has far too many good qualities to be considered one of the worst cars ever built.

The Pacer and Pinto get bashed a lot, but I doubt that the majority of the people who do so actually know anything about them. Just because you don't like a car doesn't mean you have to call it crap.

Hummer H2. Why does every car company that has a respectable awesome line of cars that are affordable to the higher class, go and make some chincy crap box and make it affordable to everyone. It used to be really cool to see a REAL Hummer role down the road, now all you can do is smile back at the soccer moms as they drive by in a vehicle that sadly represents what Hummer is known for.

Just what the hell were they thinking... talk about hybrids. Let's make a car so we don't have to use the ferry. It doesn't matter if rust from seawater keeps it from lasting more than a year... let's just make it. And also, let's throw in a 770cc engine in it so its top speed (on land) will be about 27 kph.

The vauxhall/opel corsa and citroen saxo.

The toys of the boy racer who put MDF body kits on them, saw off the exhaust, put flimsy spoilers on them and some Nos stickers. And then claim they are fast. AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!

Bout time to.

Pontiac Fiero (1984) My sister had one of these and it got ran over by a truck in her school parking lot back in 1986

The caption for that silver Saxo above says "The windscreen says "**** happens" on it. You're right - something very **** has happened to this car"... :D

(anyone else think he's taken the springs off it altogether, and added them to the SUV behind? :D)

oh...dear...god...
Actually, I think he took the rims off of the suv and put them onto the car and vice versa

[edit]
is that a del slow or a supra? Or is it a Del Slow made to look like a supra? I can't tell from the angle.

That really IS a Supra (GZ - I think). And although I don't really go in for that kind of thing, the paint job IS good. But he needs to be slapped about quite a bit for everything else.

funnily enough, our Leyland Mini has some Marina parts on it! arrgghh!!!! Cant remember which ones though! Its in the interior though.

And that Supra is crap!

One car I would like to add to the list would have to be the ford Taurus, sometimes you don`t know if it`s going back wards or forwards.

Indeed all of Austin Rover's output of that period was pretty shocking. Who can forget the original Metro, which peed fuel out whenever you went round a left hand bend. Except the filler was in front of the rear wheel, so - hey presto - instant spin!

Or the Allegro (renamed the "All Aggro"), with its (now to be found on the MGF) Hydramatic rear suspension.

All shockers.

Oh, and take a look at the Marina's door handles. Now go look at the door handles on a Mk1 Discovery.

Can anyone join me in a chorus of "Parts-Bin Special!!"

This one was actually a very nice car. One of the US's first attempts at mid-engined production cars, and all around a not-so-bad car. Although some safety issues brought it down in the late 60s, it's been regarded as a very good historic landmark. The problem was that because the engine was behind the driver, GM didn't invest much in protecting the front. Still, the car went down after Ralph Nader and his environmental crew destroyed it.

Sorry, there's a Corsa name in it, but it isn't one!

you just dont know what you are talking about. the corsa has been selling here (under chevy badging) for years, and has proven to be quite reliable, economical, and a good car overall. if you call a car bad because ricerboys put stickers on it, you are an incredible idiot.

The Vauxhall Corsa is one of the least reliable cars on British roads - only surpassed by the cottage cars (TVR, Lotus) and MG Rover, Land Rover, FIAT and Alfa Romeo. This is why it is bad.

The Corsa placed 65th out of 137 in the Top Gear new car survey - not bad, but not good. Vauxhall placed 25th from 36 - well in the bottom sector.

The car is everything you used to expect from the class it's in, but the new Ford Fiesta, Honda Jazz and even the Toyota Yaris have moved the game on so far that the Corsa is little more than an aging relic in the single most competitive sector in the British car market.
