Worth buying a DFP at the moment

Is it worth getting a dfp from christmas even though ps3 is coming out. Will there be alot better steering wheels coming out that i should wait for?
In my country (Australia) the dfp's are selling for around $250 Au which is $175 american i think.
 
you should be able to find one for much cheaper!! look around on rscnet. i'm sure there are aussies that have upgraded to the g25 and are willing to sell their dfp. Even new, it should be a bit cheaper than that
 
Ok thanks but what wheel should i buy the g25 or will the dfp do for the next few years or just wait for the next big thing
 
That's something we can't decide for you. It all depends on how much money you want to spend and if you want to play GT4 or GT5. If you want to play GT5, wait a couple of years ;) and buy a PS3.
If you already have a PS2, then buy the DFP if you want to keep it cheap, or buy the G25 if you want to spend a lot of money. The G25 and GT4, mmm, don't know about that but the G25 with LFS (have to go on Gabkick's experience), GTR, GTR2, GTL, etc... should be much nicer to play than the DFP, so I heard.

It is all up to you!!!
 
I think the dfp is supported by ps3. I has a connection port for a usb 2.0, and if I were SONY why mess with a controller that works so well. I have a dfp and they are a great experience

I got a good deal for one, it didn't have the power cord though but at $35 I couldn't pass it up. It's been great ever since.

And I thought the DF was good. :lol:

That is not always the case. More steering wheels have a usb 2.0 connection and still they don't work with GT4. Think about the Red Momo racing, it's not compatible with GT4 although it has a usb connection.
 
I found a site selling new GTFP for $114 canadian dollars
Actually this company is about 30 mins drive from my home
maybe I can even save the shipping when I am ordering G25 :D

I'm looking to replace my DF, all I can find is $95 USD -- which means duties @ the boarder.

Well yeah, but the DFP is the official GT4 wheel. It's bound to work with GT5, no doubt about it.
