Would there be some differences I made some of these controlller changes?

How would it feel if I were to use the analog for steering rather than the D-pad?

And how would it feel if I were to use the accel. and brake on the analog rather than any other button?

that's how i use it if i dont have my wheel, 👍 its the next best way.. the d-pad turns all the way or nada same with gas

Analog is the best way to go, it give you the most control of your car short of using a wheel...

Much better steering and throttle control.

By all means switch. You'll notice a difference in your lap times and ability to control the car.

As much as I wish I had learned German, the best I can manage is My grandfather emigrated here, and I've still got family in Germany.

Ding Ding Ding!!! Correct Answer!!!...

Seriously though... The analog sticks are the closest you are going to get to a wheel without forking out the cash.... I use the right stick for throttle and brakes, and the left stick for steering... Most people can't tell that I use a controller... With a fair amount of practice you can emulate the look and control of a wheel with the analog sticks....

It might take some getting used to, but stick with it...

It's worth it....

hmm, because I ve been a huge fan of gt2 on my psx, I still like to use the DS1 controller, and instead of using pressure sensitivty, I just quickly push the button, It just depends on what feels more natarual for the player.

I hear that using both Analog sticks is better (control/ minor adjustment are easier)...
But i am having trouble getting used to it, so i just use one for steering and the buttons, plus i have gotten fairly used to how much i should press in the accel button.
And the buttons are pressure senstive DJ REX. :)

Its true I changed over about a week ago to analogue sticks it will seem a little strange at first but if you stick with it (no pun intended) you'll notice big changes and serious improvements... I say just do it 👍

yeah i use both analog sticks for steering and accel/brakin just basiclly for the smoothness of control opposed to the D-pad and buttons or the analog and buttons combination, with enough pratice it can be a good enough substitute for the wheel

Try this:
Steering to Left Analog.
Shifting to Right Analog.
R1 for accelerator.
L1 for brake.

It feels a bit awkward at first. But it is way more intuitive than any of the other DS2 sets I have tried.
Plus, with the gas and brake on two different buttons, you can add a touch of brake without getting off the throttle.

Also the R1 and L1 buttons have way more travel than the x and square. So you can better use the pressure sensitivity to your advantage.

I use the D-Pad for steering, but you could use the Left Analog for it as well. And I use the right analog for accel. and brake, while the shifting and view changing I use the shoulder buttons.
