Ok. Question/Game for everyone.

For 3 whole years, you are stuck driving this.

intro.jpg

It runs decent, but has a rusted through hole in the muffler/cat so it is unnecessarily loud. Manual Transmission that sometimes doesn't want to easily shift into 3rd without force. (if you cant drive a stick, to bad. no automatic version! best start learning.) The radio is broken and only gets AM stations (can't be fixed or replaced), and there is a slight oil leak causing clouds of smoke when you accelerate from an idling stop. The car is neon pink, OR neon yellow (your choice). you can ONLY fix mechanical problems, do oil changes etc (BUT you can not find the oil leak or fix the muffler/cat). Oh, and the interior smells like a musty damp basement that no amount of trees will cover. The windows only roll down half way by the way (for you smokers out there)

Now comes the whole reason for doing this, each week you drive the car, you are given $550 cash and at the end of the year you are given a $1,000 bonus. If you survive all 3 years, you get $30,000 all of the $$ is tax free.

Rides in other cars is ok, but you CAN NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES drive another car. (emergencies excluded)

Would you do it?

if you like this game/ want to continue, throw up a pic, and some info about the car, and what you would get for driving it etc etc.

Of course, I don't even have a car now so I'd take that even without the bonus.
And $550 a week is a lot, after the 3 years you'd have over 100k with every bonus.

I would rock the "Space Egg" Boom Box in rear seat, motor honey with 50w motor oil (should control some smoking), go from 2nd to 4th gear skipping 3rd, and doing mechanical repair on muffler with some of that tape stuff that doesn't work. I owned one of these in the 70's:nervous: rack and pinion steering was strange in this car all the windows and poor visibility passenger door being large than drivers door, Doors were so heavy they wore out the hinge pins quickly, but it wasn't a bad car as it keep the now ex-wife from driving my 76 Camaro:sly:.

Nope, wouldnt consider it as long as I have a car.

I'd PAY for owning a Pacer. Bein' paid for drivin one? of course. Heck I'd put the final ammount of money into it to make it into a 10-sec, HEMI-powered bracket racer, and I'd keep the smell on the interior. Adds character.

Oh i'd so get paid to drive that thing around! What happens if you cant get it to last 3 three years? I know I'd break it in a month from beating on that gem. :D

Adds character.

Sounds like the whole car has character.

Yeah, I'd drive it. It'd have to be neon yellow though, neon pink would just be ridiculous ;)

There's nothing there that people who like older cars would really object to too much except the color and the fact that you can't fix the radio or the oil leak, depending on one's taste in older cars. Apparently, it's even got an air conditioner? You didn't say it didn't, anyway. Yeah, not too bad, considering, but the money definitely tips the scale. There's a lot worse out there that you'd have to pay to drive.

Do I have to pay for upkeep or is that handled by someone else? Thats the real question.

you pay for upkeep, (make it a little more interesting)

this is a fun game to play with friends, but its hard on here because I dont know everyones least favorite car, the car they hate the most and wish was never made.
