Would YOU like GT5 more if it never had the X1 / X2010 in it?

Just thought id make this thread to get peoples opinions on whever or not you would enjoy GT5 online more if the X1 was not in the game, which isnt even a real car. If duping cars never happened there would not be many X1's online and everything would be good but because that isnt true the x1 can ruin the game for me and others when playing online. The worst one is on drifting lobbys, I know its the lobby owners fault for not setting limits but you finally find a lobby with alot of people in then someone comes in a X1 and crashes into everyone, theres always one. This always happens on free runs too.

Do you think it would improve GT5 if X1's were only alloud to race eachother online or not at all?

Let the Ferrari F1 cars race any other car, but not the X1, No. Make it race FGT's and other X1's..

I have no problem with restricting X1's to only racing other X1's online, that is fair enough. But i had fun doing the X1 challenges, and it is cool to have the concept idea in the game. I'm not a big fan of the car, but it has its place and many people like it.

Don't care at all. There are plenty of cars in the game that aren't real. The host should set restrictions, or kick if you don't want that car in online matches. If this car wasn't in the game people who want to mess up your drift lobby would just pick a different car.

Having more restriction options online would definitely be nice though.

I would choose any of the previous generations BMW M3s. or the very first Viper RT/10 over the X2010. Once you have the car is like: What do I do with it? Other than hitting power laps on the ring. Personally, I´m already bored of the X2010, and I DON´T EVEN HAVE IT! since I´m currently on level 29.

I think that the X2010 shouldn't be removed. I like the challenge of it, as it separates the casual GT player from the more hardcore, serious-minded one. It gives us a taste of something far more extreme than your typical Formula One machine. Something left to everyone's imagination.

What they should have done is restrict the X2010 to be unusable in A-spec and B-spec much like the Ferrari F1s. This rule would also apply to online, where you can only use it in "X2010s Only"-restricted lobbies.

I don't think it would change my views on GT5 as a whole, but online play can get annoying sometimes when you have players who try to show off, ram, and basically just ruin your experience while playing.

Why can't it be like go karts, where you can only use it if other players have it on the track?

What's an M3? & what does it even look like? The Art Cars are better anyway..

X2010 has no effect on my opinion of GT5.

I wouldn't care either way. The car itself is okay. As someone above said, we need more restrictions online. And hey, while we're at it, can we get a save settings option for online? Like set up all the restrictions and traacks we want and load them up whenever we want. Hell, Warhawk had this and I don't think I've seen a game since with this genius feature.

The X2010 got GT5 a lot of 'free' publicity i.e. news/magazine articles featuring the car and collaboration with Newey/Red Bull. You couldn't have had any of that if you didn't include the car in the game.

The game as a whole would've suffered in terms of exposure without its inclusion.

O.K, I get it. You don´t like BMW´s... Too bad for you...

So lets replace the X1 with this:

Happy?

...I want mine in PLUM CRAZY/IN-VIOLET, or TOR RED/HEMI ORANGE please...

EDIT: Sorry, I thought you were talking about Art Morrison cars, judging by your obvious like for American Muscle cars that I can see in your signature. If you were talking about BMW Art cars, then ignore my post.

Pretty much agree with what everyones said, I suppose the challenge of getting the X1 keeps people playing, just think it should be restricted online. As for A spec it should be alloud to be used in that IMO because it makes grinding cash much eaiser.

I don't think this is a BMW hater. Their Art Cars were awesome. If we could have them in GT5, I would be ecstatic. Check out this link.

I'm not a fan of the X1 but if it's what created the duping quagmire that led to PD deciding to neuter the gifting function, I'm left wondering why they just simply did not make this particular car (proto, Vettel, colored-ones) giftable. I was excited to finally get to level 30 to unlock the challenge and then found it uncontrollable and gave up on it. I got it through B-Spec and have only used it for the B-Spec enduros. From a fun/speed/controllability aspect, the Group C/LMP cars are my sweetspot. If people with X1's disrupt your online experience, I'll be yet another person that says you just need to find a lobby with properly configured limits.

I'm just happy that PD is involved creating the possible future of F1...

but I'm sure what I said didn't answer the question...

So..., wait. If the X2010 was a real car, you wouldn't have a problem with it? If being a real car would still be a problem, why even note that it isn't a real car? It isn't an impossible car, as the technology presently exists to build it just like you see it in the game, so it's just an issue of nobody having actually bothered to build it.

See exactly what your saying but I think we all agree that until it is actually built and meets the specs of it in gt5 then it will be a legit car.

That thing is in no way the future of F1. It's designed as if no regulations existed. Each year more regulations are added to F1.

Yeah remove the X1... this is supposed to be a driving game, it might as well be Wipeout 2097 with spaceships =/

I got the x2010 specifically for grinding.. Other than that, I never use it. Its an irrelevant car imo unless your grinding for quick cash

I don't say that IT is the future...I said possibly...I mean c'mon all of us can't accurately know the future....

Stupid me... And I call myself a BMW fan. Would you believe I didn´t know about these BMW Art cars? I thought he was talking about Art Morison cars, judging by all the Chrysler engine sizes he has in his signature, and I asumed he preffered American cars.

BTW, thanks for the link! That E21 race car is my wallpaper now!
