Would you like to see a "dynamic camera"? Or "smart camera"(whichever you'd call it)?

What I mean is, a camera that will look down a turn automatically while you steer. Or when you reverse the driver looks back, or in external view the camera rotates. Also, for drifting, the camera will look sideways.

Now before you start posting "Well that's why we got the anolog stick!". Or "The digital pad on the wheel", or "The PS Eye head trac.. oh that's only in time trail 👎", lets just think about this. In real life, you do turn your head yourself, but that's an independent movement. You dont steer with one hand while using your other to turn your head do you? So until there is a better way for the player to "turn their head" to the right direction without making them practice finger yoga, I believe this should be implemented in future patches and/or sequels.

That would be cool, but it would be kinda hard to not have it looking at the roof support at the edge of the window (mind went blank for the actual term, please help). And it might be difficult to have it work for drifting as well.

We could really use a much smoother, less stiff third person view as well. One that has a little sway with your car rather than acting as if it's on a stick behind the car.

Try watching your driver's head next time you race. He looks into the corners, he looks back (a bit) when reversing, and even tracks the racing line.

All they'd need to do is figure out a way to parent (another) camera to the driver's head. If the helmet is a separate model, easy for them. If it's part of the driver mesh, then they're going to have to code in the 'look' animation for the helmet into this new camera, plus whatever bounce/move/wobble effects the interior cam has now.

B pillar i think its called negrumir. An it would work if they tweeked the inside view so it didnt feel so cramped.

True, I hate how some of the cars make you feel like shaq, while others make you feel like your sitting too close to the driver side door as if your head is leaning against the side.

I just want some dam mirrors and be able to use my bonnet as a reference point for turns

I think it would be a great addition! :) 👍

Sound's cool, just a programming issue with how far and how fast to move the camera side to side with each view.👍

Maybe Pd does it in future updates. Because there is one game coming soon where is very moving and dynamic camera. It just lame that you cannot view on side.

It's called; look to the apex!
The older Simbin games have it. The new shift 2 unleashed has it. And you can simulate this already, using a PS eye thing as a head tracking device in GT5.

It's called the a-pillar, then the b-pillar is the one between the front and rear door, and the c-pillar is behind the rear door an so on depending on how many pillars the car have.. 👍 :)

I swear the PS Eye impletation is quite rigid?

I would.
Like when braking you lurch forwards with the G-Force.

Look to the apex is indeed an old idea in the world of PC sims. If it was adjustable it would be a great addition and might really change people's look on some tracks. (Fuji might become a lot more popular...)

Great idea, I hope they implement this sometime in the future, though I'd like it to have an on/off switch in case it doesn't work as hoped. People with multi-screen won't need it either

Pick a car with stock suspension

What do you mean?
I meant like in an F1 car for example, your head turns as the G-Forces pushes your head towards the outside of a bend.

I'd love to see something like this. I'm worried about the drifitng cam though... It might go either too far, or too little... We'll need a wide angle camera setting. Who knows.

TDU has this for cornering, its extremely annoying.

A-Pillar.

We could toggle it on or off in the driving settings before we start a race.

PD need to input PSEye headtracking to GTlife mode. IT IS THAT COOL :)

But i've got another idea !

USE MOVE for headtracking :D ? Just like that:

haha!

Perkel  imagine your mates see you like that

Great art there! :p
And for the TDU2 comment: indeed it can be hard to get used to or plain anoying. That's why it should be adjustable. In GTR2 i liked to have it on some relatively mild value.

Sadly, EA has this (sort of) on NFS Shift. It also has a variable camera that you control. Another thing is that some people like the cam rigid for drifting because then, you can determine what angle you are at, how much countersteer/throttle, ect.
