Would you use this seat for your rig?

Sure, why not? Although I did the wrecking yard thing and got 2 nice seats for under $80, so you might wanna try that before dropping what will be over $300 unless you can dodge tax and shipping.

Try checking your local Craigslist ads. I found a seat through a Craigslist seller that's very similar to that Cipher seat you're looking at, and it only cost me $90, and it's brand new. It looks a lot better on my cockpit than most junkyard seats would look.

After searching and searching for several weeks, I bought this Sparco:

It's a very good quality seat: fully adjustable and smells like a new car :)) The only thing I didn't like was the reclining lever: it felt a little flimsy, but easily fixed it.

Please note, that you have to buy the sliders too. I payed $279 (found a discount code) for the seat and $57 for the sliders, free shipping, no tax. Very good deal.

Let me know if you decide to by it - I'll tell you which sliders to get.

Good luck!

Unfortunately, I'm not in the US, and the costs of buying a seat and pay international shipping would be prohibitive.

The oportunity that I have is that I found these at a local store. No shipping, no nothing and that is very good news for me. They are very reasonably priced (as of today's exchange rate) $227 USD for both of them and they include (basic) sliders. I'd just need to build the base.

Now, Sparcos... Of course I'd love a Sparco seat, that'd be incredibly swell, but I've driven around trying to find car accessory stores that will sell me just one seat and not the pair, and I've had no luck so far. :(

Those seats don't look like the best out there, but they are very aesthetically pleasing and found them at a very good price. I'll even try and sell the other one for a lil' bit of profit. :p

I just wanted to chime in since I noticed some heavier traffic from this forum. I would recommend first of all not to buy a Sparco seat for a game seat setup. MAJOR waste of money unless you have extra money to burn.

Currently our seats are sold in pairs so our single piece price would be much more inexpensive. If you guys want to contact me direct I would be more than happy to help you out. I would also like to mention that the seats also include sliders within the price as well as shipping included.

We are also working on a full game seat setup as well since we work heavily with racing seats. We hope to have something in line with Playseat within the next few months.

Just a slight correction as well. Our seats are more known to be a reclining racing seat and not so much a bucket seat. Bucket seats tend to be a singular shell without any adjustment and can be quite uncomfortable in the long haul. Ours can slide and recline and the support is significantly better than a bucket seat. Nothing wrong with bucket seats, but for a game setup it would not be recommended.

So CipherAuto, how would one go about getting a single seat setup from you and what would a price range be for say your CPA1018FBKRD model?

Just so you know Cipher and everyone else interested, I ended up buying them. Here's a picture of my set up. I haven't painted it yet, but will look sleek once I paint it black.

Despite not being a seat built for this purpose, I found that I can drive for hours and not feel any sort of back ache afterwards. 👍

Also I want to add that despite the low price, they're well made and kind of made me wish I had a blue car to put them into. My Mazda is red. :(
