When following a link on the New Posts page you had the option to go to a specific page in the thread, particularly the last page, which is where most people will be headed anyway. It would be especially useful for very long, multiple page threads.
 
That's an interesting idea; have it so that you click on a link and it brings you to a popup with just a set of numbers that you can click on that will bring you to the respected page. Good idea

Do you use the "goto last post" button, located next to posters name? Im sure you do, but it is useful if you want to go to the last page of a thread.
 
Well, the 'new' icon next to each thread name will, of course, take you to the newest post made since your last visit to the site (which will probably be on the last page). More specifically, for the last page, you can click the right-pointing arrow on the left of the thread listing to be taken to the last post (and, therefore, the last page) in the thread.
