Heres the latest Escudo that took the overall win at this years race to the clouds.

And Suzuki sports web page all about their Pikes peak attempts.

Cor yeah, that is rather nice compared to the Pikes Peak Suzuki in GT2, 3 and 4. I would like to see that in GT5. What a video, the drivers are hellish skilled. He came close to coming off the edge, but well... phwoar!

Wow! That new Escudo looks brilliant, hope its in GT5!

Nice video aswell although the car looks pretty crazy

Some are/were dual engined like the Suzuki Cultus and the earlier Escudo hill climb cars most use a single engine. Power ranges from 400-500 to 1000+ depending on the car and class, but as has been said, the higher up the road the cars get the less air there is so the less power the engines produce.

There was also that Volkswagen car with twin engines...

BTW: From what I read and understood, Ari Vatanen drove a 4-wheel-steering 504... Are all rally-504 4W-steering?

You beat me to it. I was just looking at it, and wanted to post that...

EDIT: Why the hell is it all Asphalt? Haven't seen the whole thing, but up to minute 2 everything is normal asphalt... What the?

EDIT No. 2: Wait wait wait. And wait again. That's no Escudo... It's a Grand Vitara Pikes Peak Special! Or are all Suzuki Pikes Peak'ers called Escudo? But admitted, it looks fantastic...

If you are talking about daan's video, he says it's not an Escudo.

They have started paving Pikes Peak, because environmentalists are concerned that the gravel from cars will mess up the environment.

Pikes Peak will never be the same again :(. And when I went there a month ago, it was closed due to rain :(.

Not that our '95 Quest GXE could make it up there anyway

sorry to bring this back up ( this section doesn't seem to lively anyway )

Why do environmentalist always have to mess up all the good stuff. It just makes me want to punch one of them in the face, over, and over, and over and even past the point of my knuckles breaking and my hand falling off due to infection, lol :D

I wonder why it is so hard to find videos of pikes peak back in the good old days. I'd kill to watch the cultus, escudo, (whatever that Peugeot was, lol ) on pikes peak. same with group B, its not too hard too find group b videos but i have a hard time trying to find put together seasons like they use to have on speedvison, oh wait, never mind, its the nascar channel now :yuck:

I want to play gt2 so bad right now. time to pull out the good old racing modified 22b impreza on pikes peak uphill

Well, this could also bring some berg-cup style action...old formula cars, anyone?

There are actually quite a few videos out there. Many full length Pikes Peak videos show up on eBay as well.

Here are just a couple decent clips I found of the Escudo from just a quick search on YouTube: (the first is from a Pike's Peak run, the second is just having fun on the tarmac)

Here is nice 2 part piece on Escudo's victorious win in 1996 at Pikes Peak(just wish it had subtitles):

WHOA! while i was watching this, the NASA space shuttle's double sonic boom shook the crap out of my house!
Great music, and a great sounding/performing car, still watching though.
EDIT!
dang, that is the best rally film I have ever seen! There was a lot of in car/bumper cam footage, and i like that! Sweet car, was it in GT2? I hope someone can do something about the paving of the roads, stupid environmentalists, THEY ARE RUINING EVERY SINGLE RACING SPORT!
