WRC Franchise Returns to Nacon, Beginning in 2027

Being developed from scratch doesn't fill me with confidence in all honesty. The KT engine is a good one, the stage design in the KT games is exceptional, there was a lot to build on. Games developed from scratch don't tend to be much good in the first year in recent experience.

I have low hopes, if it exceeds them then that would be miraculous. I actually really enjoyed WRC: Generations, and Grit Games appear to be made up of a lot of former KT Racing staff, so there is a small bit of hope that it won't be a complete car crash, but using UE5 when AC Rally has already shown what it can be capable of leaves them open to massive critique if they get that element of it wrong.

I would also be interested to know if, or how much, of NACON/KT Racings previous WRC games can or will be crossed over into the new title. Not always possible to do so between engines I know but the one thing the KT Racing WRC games did have was good stage design, it would be a shame if they were unable to bring some of that across, especially the countries that were revamped later in the series' cycle.

Rally wise, if it is based on the 2027 season, we will see some new rallies not seen in WRC games before, Rally Italy moves to the Lazio region near Rome after being held in Sardinia since 2004. Rally Islas Canarias hasn't yet featured in a game after joining the calendar in 2025, likewise Saudi Arabia and Paraguay. Plus Rally GB returns in Scotland and a round in the USA (Kentucky/Tennessee) getting ever closer to being announced, there will be plenty of new rallies to enjoy.

Me too; but I swear, if they put the same Sardegna map been used since WRC 7...........:mad::lol:

(I know, Roma Capitale will debut next year, but I bet they're will be capable enough to put it anyway as a bonus Rally :P)

See I wouldn't mind if they did it as a bonus rally, they did something similar in Generations with a lot of the older rallies, I think only Australia was missing from their previous rallies in that game.

I won't hold out hope for it but there was a alot to like about the new stages they created for WRC 10 and Generations and it would be sad to see them disappear never to return. I guess it just depends on how the new studio is structured within KT and how compatible with UE5 the old KT Engine stuff is.

Joking aside, I hope that the title means not an annual release, but something on the line of EA WRC with future DLCs ;)

This would be nice, I think however like EA WRC, it will depend on how well it is received.

And also the desire for the developer/publisher to actually support the game properly post launch which, lets face it, under NACON and KT Racing previously, wasn't the case.
