Do any of you know if there will be a new WRC game for the PS3? I heard the WRC license which Sony held expired.

Is there any word on who will pick it up and for what platforms it will be? Colin McRace Dirt and Sega Rally will be nice for sure...but sadly lacking the original WRC cars. :indiff:
 
While I have not seen anything confirmed I would be amazed if a WRC game was not headed for the PS3, however I hope its a better effort than the rather poor efforts we have had so far on the PS2.

The WRC series were nice in so far as they had the licence so the cars and locations were right and the feel was very 'WRC', however the physics were not exactly great (actually the first few in the series were seriously bad). Don't get me wrong the Colin McRae series has always been an arcade game rather than a sim (and I certainly don't see Sega Rally being anything but arcade).

What I would love to see is Warthog update 'Richard Burns Rally' for the PS3, the PS2 version had easily the finest physics engine of any rally game (and console driving sim for that matter) on the PS2.

It may not have had the WRC venues (but all the rallies were real rally locations), but he cars were all present and correct.

A quality WRC Rally game would be on the top of my wish list. 👍


For now I can only hope either Sega Rally Evo or CM's Dirt turns out to be a decent rally game at least.

I would love to have a PS3 WRC game, not seening WRC on TV anymore sucks and makes me want to have the game more.

Agreed. With no more WRC on SPEED ( :yuck: ) I'm stuck playing, then watching my GT4 rally replays. :guilty:
