I think now is as good a time as any to open this thread, I had initially started typing a post about class suggestions but it turned into something more so I'll make this thread.

Let's try not to make it all about what bugs we want to see fixed, we know there's some we want to see fixed, this is more about the game itself in terms of content and things we would like to see added or changed.

I'll start with what I would like to see with the classes. I know it could end up being complicated but I think there is an easy way to narrow down the classes to make them more realistic to reality, making clubs and championships more realistic and the preset championships more realistic too.

The main class I think would benefit is the World Rally Car 1997-2011 class. Currently all the cars are just lumped in together, I would do this (italic cars not in game, but part of my wishlist):

World Rally Car 1997-2000
Subaru Impreza 1998
Peugeot 206 WRC
Seat Cordoba WRC
Ford Focus RS Rally
Toyota Corolla WRC
Ford Escort WRC

World Rally Car 2001-2006
Subaru Impreza 2001
Ford Focus RS Rally
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo
Citroen Xsara
Skoda Fabia
Peugeot 307
Hyundai Accent WRC

World Rally Car 2007-2010
Citroen C4
Ford Focus RS 2008
Subaru Impreza 2008
Suzuki SX4

This would then leave the Mini Countryman as an outlier, they could try to license the Citroen DS3, Fiesta and Polo so we could then have:

World Rally Car 2011-2016
Mini Countryman WRC
VW Polo R WRC
Ford Fiesta WRC
Citroen DS3 WRC
Hyundai i20 WRC

The same could then apply to Group A, with a few additions.

Early Group A
Lancia Delta
Mitsubishi Galant
Subaru Legacy RS
Toyota Celica ST185
Ford Sierra RS Cosworth

Late Group A
Subaru Impreza 555
Ford Escort RS Cosworth
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 3
Toyota Celica ST205

Another way around this would be to have a filter in the game so we could calibrate the classes ourselves for clubs and custom championships and allow the devs to fine tune pre built championships as well.

So with the above included my car wishlist looks something like this:

World Rally Cars
Toyota Corolla WRC
Ford Escort WRC
Hyundai Accent WRC
Peugeot 307cc
Suzuki SX4
VW Polo R WRC
Ford Fiesta RS WRC
Citroen DS3 WRC
Hyundai i20 WRC
Citroen C3 WRC

Group A
Toyota Celica ST185
Toyota Celica ST205
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 3

S2000
Proton Satria S2000
Skoda Fabia S2000

S1600
Ford Fiesta S1600
Suzuki Swift S1600
MG ZR S1600

Rally4
Renault Clio

Splitting the '00s into separate categories is certainly something I could get behind, the various Toyota's do seem to be a pipe-dream at best considering all the red-tape surrounding them.

One thing I would like to see would be a refurbished classic class, if only because the McRae Escort has made the rest of the R3 80's class borderline redundant in terms of performance. Not sure as yet what it could be matched with but even a 2, 3 car class would be better than the current status-quo (IMO).

I'd love to finally see the Mercedes Fintail, SL and W123 finally get some rally recognition. The fintail especially, with Ewy Rosqvist behind the wheel.

Tyre selection needs to be more akin to real life, can tell there's some leftover from DR2.0/DR3 development in the lack of ability to cross-mount tyres and pick your specific loadout, it's just, pick a compound, and how many spares. I want to take 4 dry soft and 2 wets, or 4 wet asphalt tyres and 2 studded tyres on Monte Carlo and pick how I mount them. Would be much closer to the real experience with this.

Agreed on your proposed car classes, I think throw a Skoda Octavia WRC in there as well and we'd be well catered for the "modern" era of rallying.

I think the main thing that seems to be missing for me is Wales. I love Chile, and it's great - but it really is no substitute for Wales. I appreciate it's not been on the official WRC calendar for a few years but I do really miss those flowing Welsh stages. Even the Scottish expansion pack from DR2.0 would do the trick.

The other bit would be seeing cars going into the stage before you (if you're further down the running order), and even 'finding' cars in stage off the road. It's a little thing that probably required far too much effort for this iteration but it really adds to the sense of immersion - and is really the only time you'll ever see another car.

I would like to see Wales too and some San Remo since that tarmac rally is just stunning.

I would love to see variable stage conditions too. Currently it is very static.

Some serious flames from the groupB exhausts

Possibility to save replays

A Peugeot 406 coupé F2000 🙏

Wales would be a dream with the longer stages, the full Sweet Lamb would be so good.

I agree with the variable weather, it’s an odd one because the capability appears to be there, I can start raining during stages that are already wet for example and dusk turns to night on longer stages. But a bit more variety would be good for sure.

@Tool1312 has mentioned free roam a few times, would definitely be a good addition, doesn’t need to be on the scale of the KT games but a Dirtfish style playground would be brilliant.

More cars, this time I’m listing cars missing from the 2 Dirt Rally games and Dirt 4 & 5:

2011 Ford Fiesta RS Rally
2014 Hyundai i20 WRC
2011 VW Polo R WRC
1960s DS Automobiles DS21
1970s Datsun 240z
2015 Mitsubishi Space Star R5
1990s Renault Clio Williams Maxi
1981 Porsche 924 GTS

More of a quality of life improvement, but can the custom championship in Quick Play be less clunky? Currently you have to specify a type of car to use for every event, and randomly selected stages are just seemingly RNG in terms of how many per events, and same with how many rallies are in a championship. The actual championship mode lets you pick how long the rally is and pick from the preset classes of cars. Why can't we just do that but open up to all the classes and not just the 3 official ones? If I want to set up a season I have to be sitting there for a long arse time to set everything up and if I want to change the type of cars for the championship I made I have to go to individual rally to change the class...just seems...very clunky...

I'd love an option to share user created liveries so I could get my hands on @Tool1312's Martini and Belga designs.

I was thinking - I never use the car builder. No interest in it. What would completely change that is if they added the option to create a historic car - opened it up a bit so you could create a car that maybe doesn’t exist ‘officially’ in game based on older classes. So I could say, choose Group A and hatchback shape, choose headlights etc, create something like a Mazda 323 or something then edit the livery…I guarantee if they did that my time in car builder would go from zero to hours. Maybe in future games.
