Wrong decisions led to restart

Ok guys, I decided to restart my GT career mode for two main reasons.

Firstly, I think I overspent far too much on cars which were not needed for any specific events in either A or B-Spec modes. Must have ended up with over 100 standard cars and probably 90% of them were not needed for any specific events. Wanted to do the GT World Championship on Professional but realized that the AI cars were nearly all using either Super GT/JGTC cars or Japanese touring cars and I didn't have anywhere near enough money to buy one.

Secondly, I had two B-Spec drivers. One was lv.6 and one was lv. 1. So naturally, I completed B-Spec Beginner events with the lv. 6 driver and the only races my lv. 1 driver would have been any good at would have been the first couple due to his very low driver level (hence, would have had to grind to get his level up) This time round, I intend to start both drivers off taking turns to win individual races and championships and so they will both end up having similar driver abilities by the time I reach the Amateur challenges.

Is this a much better strategy to take because it seems like it to me??

Thanks.

The easiest way to level a second B-Spec driver is to wait until you are able to enter the events that allow you to use 2 drivers (for which you'll need to level a "main" B-spec driver in order to raise your B-spec career level and stand a chance of winning) and use the low-level driver for a short stint towards the end of the race. He'll probably gain 5-10 levels in one race to start with.

As for needing a SuperGT car.... they only cost about 500k. With the free money on offer in the seasonal events how can you not afford that?

Not online. I can plug my ethernet cable into my PS3 but since I have a modem and my PS3 is located in my bedroom, it's a pain to constantly keep moving it into my computer room. Also, SuperGT cars are 900-950,000 (only the 300hp GT300 cars like the Arta Garaiya and Cusco Impreza) are 500,000.

Honestly there is no real reason to restart. There are some easily acquirable cars you can obtain from b-spec races that will be able to compete with the Super GT cars. For example the Mazda Furai you got in b-spec in a level 5 roadster cup race, that car is pretty darn fast.

I am even willing to send you a car if needed, I have no problem doing so. Don't waste your time restarting, especially after you have bought so many cars that i'm sure you like.

That's what I was gonna say. It's really not worth getting the Super GT cars used from the online dealer either. You saved a bit of money but chasis and engine repair will end up costing as much as a new Super GT car

Too late :dopey:

I don't mind, though. I frickin' love this game but what I intend to do is take a whole different approach as far as my spending habits go this time round. For example, I know I'll need a Lambo and a Ferrari for some events and so I will buy those out of necessity.
I will refrain from buying my personal favourites until I can earn a lot of money quickly and easily (like the American Championship on Extreme) because they will show up in the UCD again eventually. I really did waste a ton of money looking back now. Money which could have been used to buy cars I actually needed for certain tournaments.

Thanks for the offer of some cars but I like to do things the hard way ;-) independently.

Are any of the Online Dealership Super GT cars premium? They all have an S, so I'm assuming they are standard.

If thats what you want all the power to you. If i can make a suggestion there are two cars you should buy, as early as possible. The 1974 Countache from the used car dealer (think it might be in the online lot atm) so you can complete the Historic Cup, and the Corvette ZR1, which once race modified can beat LeMans class race cars with a little skill for significantly less that a Super GT car would cost (which wouldn't stand a chance anyway). Good luck!

You wouldn't need to plug in the Enet cable if you got a wireless router.

You probably could have sold off many of the cars that you didn't want and saved for $$$. Rather than starting a new game I would have suggested just starting a parallel game by creating a 2nd user on your PS3. But I guess it's too late for that since you've already started over.

Thanks. I must admit I hate tuning cars but it looks like I may have to tune the Counti for the Historic Cup. Either that or wait for a Chapparal or that Toyota to appear in the UCD.....:scared:

Very true. Just haven't got round to getting a router. Although I wouldn't have got very much money if I had sold my cars (want to collect as many unique ones as I can to try out some testing)

No they are all Standard, hence the S, but I think you already know that.:)

Well the 2j is something like 13 millions credits if i remember correctly  And the Toyota is winnable from the Like the Wind series in B-Spec extreme. If you don't want to use the countache I see many people have completed that series with a race modified Camaro SSZ(R?) cant remember the exact model.

No reason to restart!

you can easy buy new cars, driving same events again.. doing things all over again. with no limit! tune them properly! everything.. this is one thing GT is great..you can always go back and do it again properly. 👍

For b spec only do one driver...... Then when you get to enduro race use an overpowered car and use only new drivers. Theyll spin but still win and jump to lvl17 ish first time. Do it a few more times and theyll be competent drivers. All 6 of mine are nudging lvl40 and most have done only 20 odd races.

You should have sold some of the standard cars, and done some grinding to get a GT500. After a while the money is nothing, I have about 10 Premium GT500s, and 13 Standards.

I was about to restart my career becouse i thought getting the ''spend all your money''-throphy seemed impossible to me and I felt I started off with a wrong car wich is now sold (used honda civic when i could bought a new one). I have never sold my first car in any GT series before but I can now live with that. I also have gotten the throphy buy with help from the UCD. Now i need a USB memory stick so I can backup my file before something would happen as I really dont want to start over..

Ive entered a fresh lvl 0 driver into one of the endurance races (suzuka 1000 propably) amd he went straight to level 25or even 27, if i remember correctly.

No need to buy the Countache, it's a prize for winning the Lamborghini event in Professional Series.

Other than the seasonal event, there is no 'need' to buy a Super GT car, but there is a Super GT event in Expert Series and those cars are so great to drive, I'd recommend everyone should have at least one in their garage.

There's no need to restart. You're already farther than if you just started the career mode. Plus, I don't see the problem with "useless" cars. You can trade them on the marketplace.

You are correct, thank you for the addition. Just to save someone some potential issues, if you are going to use the countache for the historic cup, make sure you upgrade the lp400 NOT the 25th anniversary edition like I was stupid enough to do :ouch:.

Why dont you just sell all the useless used cars (maybe around 50-60)you bought, and then save some money for a good vehicle to grind with. Or if its sufficient (Which is slightly unlikely) Buy a super gt with the money you have gotten.

Since you've already restarted, go do a few of the license tests first. That will get you enough experience (and a Kart, if memory serves), to get into the early Karting events, then the Jeff Gordon NASCAR stuff, etc. Those are a great early source of money.

Take some of that cash and buy the car for the first of the available Seasonal Events (the Mitsu MiEV, for starters). Slap on some soft tires and lighten the body a skoche, and you're good to go for a hundred grand or more. Do the same for each of the Seasonal races, and you've netted well over 1.5 million AND you've got some worthwhile cars for other events.

Best of all, you'll get your driver up to level 23 or so just on the Seasonal Events and a few of the Special Events!

Why on earth would you restart.

Keep all the cars and just do the events all over again (that is like restarting)

really thats kind of strange.

I needed a GTP account because I'm probably going to submit a time for the registry and try online racing. Then my gamer OCD kicked in so it turned in to a quasi-restart with license tests and special events. I cheated and gifted a car over for the seasonal events, so it is not pure, but it is going to be my main account now.

It's not really a bad thing, it really has been kind of fun redoing the easy stuff and seeing how much I improved.
