Cars: There are two types of cars.

Type 1 is main cars anyone can select these cars.

The second type of car is factory cars. Factory cars are cars that you have to qualify for.

Your probably asking how do I qualify to use a factory car? I will have a someone set a lap in one of the main cars around Daytona Road, Indy Road,or Monza Wet. After that driver sets his/her lap you must try to beet that lap time in the same car. If you are 5 seconds or more slower than the lap you may select one of the two factory cars.

Main Cars:
Main Specs: 300 HP Max 1250 KG

Honda Civic Type R '08

Mazda Atenza Sport 25Z '07

Wrecks & Spins

I understand some of these cars are really hard to turn until tuned correctly. Some bumps & bangs are accepted. Becoming pissed off & slamming into another driver to wreck them & send them to the back is not OK. You will be DQ'd.

Safety Car/Cautions:

The only time the safety car/ caution may be called is when two or more drivers get in to a wreck. When there's a wreck that needs a caution the drivers involved in the wreck must call caution. If only one driver calls caution the safety car will not be called out. It must be two drivers.

Race Time:

All races will be on Wednesday. Room will open at 3:45 Qualifying race will be at 4:00 hopefully the main race will start at 4:30-4:45. These are all Eastern Standard Time.

Carbon Bonnet Rule:

The only time you can run a black bonnet is when you are an Indipendent driver. If you are running as a team you must run the colored bonnet.

I ran a 4-door sedan championship which seems similar to what you are suggesting but I couldn't keep running it due to my personal schedule. What car restrictions are you thinking?

Well I am slowly working on that & in a few days I will post the cars we will be using.

OP has been updated with the cars being used. Schedule is open to discussion as well as any changes to cars being used.

With that idea you might want to check out this, pretty similar to how I think this idea is in your mind :) if you decide to check it out just say Wally sent you

That's kinda what I had in mind.

I'm gonna work on the OP this week & hopefully by next Monday this series will be up & running.

Word of advise, if you want people to get interested, make it something special or you'll fall short to ITCC, BTCC, TOCA etc. By special I mean stuff like start time and distance, e.g. if you live in the U.S. then make it in a U.S. friendly time slot and stuff like that

I am thinking of making a championship based on the World Touring Car Championship. Would anyone be interested in this?

Cars chosen for series:

Honda Civic Type R '08
Mazda Atenza Sport 25Z '07
BMW 135i Coupe '07
Ford Focus ST '07
Volkswagen Scirocco R '10

I'm not a fan of mixed drivertrains. The FF's will always be at a disadvantage as far as tire wear is concerned and usually in cornering as well. Even something as minor as a poor start in an FF can cost you a race if you are against FR's. I'd stick to one drivetrain or the other.

I am open to car changes make a suggestion & I will take a look when I get the chance.

if you open it up to standards you can get more cars in the same category such as 4-door FR cars or something like that

What rally is saying is true.

There are quite a few touring car series already here. I'm happy to be running ITCC, with prizes and YouTube "broadcasting," to make my series compare to some of the others.

But, the Wednesday time slot is unique to the touring cars series I've seen so far. Try to spice it up with nice photos of close racing, give it a strong structure (people like structure,) and make sure to make it sound fun. Touring cars is popular on GTPlanet, but that's both a blessing and a curse.

As for what Johnnypenso mentioned, that's correct, except that if you use harder tires (i.e., NO racing softs,) the difference is smaller. So, that's a large reason behind the choices to use racing hards or sports tires. :sly:

In terms of my attendance, I 100% for sure can't make a single race in that timeslot. Sorry, I'm here to give advice only.

Thanks for all of that I will work on that. The reason I selected Wednesday at that time is because I searched through the threads & saw that Wednesday was a rarely used day & it works well for most people in EST.

Official Schedule:
Daytona Road Course: 3 Lap Qualifier/ 10 Lap Race 1/ 30 Lap Main

Suzuka East: 4 Lap Qualifier/ 15 Lap Race 1/ 45 Lap Main

Tsukuba Circuit: 5 Lap Qualifier/ 17 Lap Race 1/ 60 Lap Main

Laguna Seca Raceway: 3 Lap Qualifier/ 9 Lap Race 1/ 20 Lap Main

Indy Road Course: 3 Lap Qualifier/ 15 Lap Race 1/ 55 Lap Main

Cape Ring Inside: 5 Lap Qualifier/ 15 Lap Race 1/ 60 Lap Main

High Speed Ring: 3 Lap Qualifier/ 17 Lap Race 1/ 35 Lap Main

Autumn Ring: 3 Lap Qualifier/ 10 Lap Race 1/ 25 Lap Main

Nürburgring Double Feature:
Nürburgring GP/F
Nürburgring GP/D

Both Races 2 Lap Qualifier/ 9 Lap Race 1/ 50 Lap Main

The winner of the main race at GP/F is automatically generated pole for the GP/D Race 1. If he/she wins both of the main events they get a bonus of 10 points.

Specs are almost ready. New stuff being introduced also.

Factory Cars:
1. Subaru BRZ S '12
2. Volvo C30 R-Design '09

Not everyone can use factory cars. If you are more than 3 seconds off of the time I set for Daytona Road, Indy Road,& Monza Wet.

Well. TOCA3 retro heart attack coming back

Power rates are interesting, half way between a conventional touring car and a sort of V8 car. Only thing is one spec may not work for all cars, some individual tweaking will be required.

But a promising start 👍

Thanks I am gonna be making special aero packages. What do you think of the Nürburgring special?

Interesting sprint event concept.

Thanks. Basically its a double points race in round 29 so if you think you have the points wrapped up in after round 21 your dead wrong.

Oh what sounds better?

I would say 300. Once you get into the range of 250-300hp in an FF car, you're going to get torque steer, more understeer, and they become less stable that those power levels. That's why many cars with that much power start to become rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. 375 might work for drag racing in an FF car, but not for circuit racing.
