IS this guy serious, orjust a wanna be?

AIM VP Todd: Hello Sir
GT3bedbuddy: Good day
AIM VP Todd: We have recieved news that you have been cussing frequently in AOL Chat rooms
GT3bedbuddy: what?
GT3bedbuddy: Who said that?
AIM VP Todd: They wanted to remain anonymous
GT3bedbuddy: Hmmm
GT3bedbuddy: Well, I havent
AIM VP Todd: They said this has been happening in the Gaming Chats
GT3bedbuddy: Are you even from AIM?
AIM VP Todd: Yes, I work for AOL
GT3bedbuddy: Well, I never go to gaming chats
GT3bedbuddy: So they are wrong
GT3bedbuddy: and are trying to get me in trouble for some reason
AIM VP Todd: Sir, are you being honest with us?
AIM VP Todd: No
GT3bedbuddy: Yes
GT3bedbuddy: Is there anyway to prove that I have been "cussing", because I have not
AIM VP Todd: If it happens again, we will have to delete your AOL account, and ban your ISP.
GT3bedbuddy: No problem. What hasnt happened will never happen again.
AIM VP Todd: Ok
AIM VP Todd: Thanks for your time sir.
GT3bedbuddy: sure
AIM VP Todd: Have a good day.
GT3bedbuddy: Ummm...you too.

AIM VP Todd: If it happens again, we will have to delete your AOL account, and ban your ISP.

I am assuming you use AOL? If so, AOL banning your ISP from using their chat service would, in effect, be banning AOL. I think that would clear out the rooms pretty well, don't you?

It's extremely unlikely that an ISP would use instant messaging to have a conversation like that. It would be much more robust of them to have a nice line in e-mails that they could take to court should they need to.

I therefore concur with F1man.

It looks exactly like a joke to me, I wouldn't believe that for a minute! AOL would use email to discuss such a matter, not AIM.

I think that it even says somewhere in one of AIM's agreements that they will never attempt to contact you by Instant Message.

If AOL contacts you, it WILL NOT be on IM. It will be in a blueish E-mail with all this AOL stuff. You will see it believe me.

An Instant Messenging Vice President. The thought alone is laughter.

Klos! He's got the disease!!

By the way - interesting insight: AOL won't let you put 'AIM' in a screenname anymore, unless you're on of them. Ack!

LOL, I just found out it was one of my "friends" from another board. So then I started doing the same thing. With even more sucess!;)
