Well this site was launched two weeks ago, but worked for the first time for me today due to the vast amount of traffic it encountered.

It is, of course, the releasing of the WWII reconnaisance photographs taken by the airforces Air Recon Planes during WWII. Pictures range from the d-day landing, to concentration camps, to bomber sorties. The site is still under construction, but nevertheless offers some great images.



Here is a picture of the Battleship, Tirpitz.

That looks like it will be interesting stuff. Then again, when i was in school, I used to read the 1939-1945 New York Times on microfilm, every day, for whatever the current date was.

The only problem I had with it was the too few pictures. I hope more get released.

More will definitely be released in the coming two weeks or so. Because of the high traffic volumes they encountered they have had to curtail the release of all pics, till such a point that they can get a reliable figure on the regular users.

So keep visiting the link till that time arrives :)
