Multiple processors 245MB ram, hardwired features so developers can make better games instead of making them "work" with nessecary functions.....Does it get any better? I doubt it

It's called the PSP :p Just joking, I know they don't compare.

All that techno mumbo jumbo sounds good, but I'd still never buy one.

Exige, think about it this way. Let's say a game developer has 2 years to make a game. And 6-9 months of those 2 years go into making the game so you can have online play/voice chat/scoreboards.

in the next X box they are hardwired in so the developers don't have to spend 6-9 months on that coding, which means we can either get thew games 6-9 months earlier OR have another 6-9 months worth of work put into it to make it a better game.

Imagine if PD came to this site, and saw everyone's discrepincies with this game, and said "Hey give us 6-9 months to work on it" and they came out with another GT4 version that wasn't as visually ugly with reflections, and had 3d wheels, and didn't have unrealistic figures.

Gamespy already has a preview of what will most likely be officially announced soon.

Part 1: http://xbox.gamespy.com/xbox/microsoft-xbox/594331p1.html
Part 2: http://xbox.gamespy.com/xbox/microsoft-xbox/594355p1.html

So let's see if gamespy was just blowing some steam, or if they are telling the truth. But, if the second part turns out to be true, then I am truly impressed with Microsoft. The new features are very impressive, and I might actually consider purchasing an X-Box 2 (Or whatever the hell it will end up being named).

This is the speculated new layout for XBL....lookin better and better already

Hey Driftster, do you have larger resolutions of those pictures? If so, do you think you can send them to me or provide the link to those pictures? Text is too small to read :boggled:

I am asuming that they will have wireless controllers so only one plug is required.No controller ports.

@TVRKing
No,X-Box 360 will have 3 3.0Ghz cores.That doesn't mean that it will have 9.0Ghz.You don't add up Mhz.They will simply have 3 CPU's for various tasks.

Oh right. Still sounds like one helluva rig though. :)

Not an Xbox fan, but this one looks nice. 👍 I got few questions about Xbox 360.

1. On the wireless controllers(any systems), are the rechargeable batteries a pain to deal with? Also, do you have to have the controllers pointed, right at the console for reception?

2. What type of DVD(HD, Blu-Ray, standard/current) did they end up using? Reason why I ask is, I read that Sony(Blu-Ray) and Toshiba(HD-DVD) was going to try to work something out, so the consumers won't have to deal with two separate next-gen DVD formats. I think Sony has said that PS3 is going to use Blu-Ray discs.

3. How much $ for this system? :drool: :D

2. Well, it seems that Sony and Toshiba are joining forces indeed. So now we´ll have to wait and see what media the PS3 will use. A friend told me that the Xbox 360 is going to use dual-layered dvds (DVD9), don´t know if it´s true though.

3.0gHz isn't much; my computer is 2.4 and it's over a year old with only a $300 motherboard. I was kind of hoping for more, considering the fact it's designed solely for gaming/media, something that requires quite a bit of processing power.

But there´s three 3.0GHz processors, and they´re all used for gaming, while your computer does a lot of other tasks. So it IS a lot.

Ps2 = 333 mhz or so
Xbox = 750 mhz or so (hell I can remember exact numbers)
Xbox 2 = 3 X 3ghz...now you see. This baby will eat multi tasking for breakfast. 3 X 3 ghz is ridiculous if you ask me.

Well, i'd really doubt the Microsoft Xbox 360 supporting Sony's Blu-Ray technology

I should've clarified better. Blu-Ray Disc is not solely Sony. Blu-Ray Discs and HD-DVDs are the two most popular choices for the next generation of DVDs. There are bunch of companies backing up Blu-Ray, with Sony and there are bunch of companies supporting HD-DVDs, also. There's nothing wrong with Xbox 360 supporting, either of those discs.
