Well. I got an X1 from the marketplace on New Years Day. It was a wonderful gift that was greatly appreciated.

It was duplicated in order to be given to me. Now every time I go onto a server, there's always someone remarking how Sony are going to get ****** about it.

What does this mean for everyone? Surely the loophole is too widely exploited to be giving out bans to everyone. But I think maybe we all get in contact with Sony in order to set the record straight on these matters.

Does anyone know anything at all about this? Maybe Jordan and amar and company can help.

Thanks.

Sony won't get upset about it. What do they care? They already made the sale.

Sony have already stated in the past that they don't care about things like this, big example being when Microsoft were handing out bans for people using the MW2 Javelin glitch, Sony came out and stated that it's in the game and they won't take any action on people using it.

Duping cars is nearly the same as sharing game saves, this has been around for ages and if anything has been encouraged... why the hell would PD, and at the very least, Sony care?

People will always find ways to cheat in a game. Sony wouldn't care less. PD might try to patch it up, but I doubt they will go to the extent of banning people.

But it's not cheating... "cheating" is tossed around way too loosely... cheating is something that affects online play, and other people's gameplay experiences... this is maybe an exploit if that, but I wouldn't even call it that...

If they ban for duping (or owning a duped car), what if I make a legit trade with someone who says the car isn't duped, but really is. I get banned for what I think was a legit trade.

Simply won't happen.

100% correct. If the case of duping cars was ruining the online racing side of GT5 then and only then could it be referred to as cheating. I mean who exactly are you cheating when you duplicate a car? Yourself?

There's too many people concerned about the way others play the game and they throw in the word "cheating" to make themselves somehow come across as the better gamer when in reality, they're just simply not.

It's cheating like it or not.
It is affecting my online experience when a stranger that dont know how to drive come in wiht a X2010 and proceed to push everyone out of the track when you're doing trackday.

Definition : Cheating characteristically is employed to create an unfair advantage, usually in one's own interest, and often at the expense of others

I actually don't care one bit of it. Not saying that I've ever cheated in the game, but when you look at most of the x1 drivers online, they're total crap.

Even if they cared, how could they tell if a car was duped?

So if I won an X2010 and did that, I'd be cheating too? That doesn't make any sense... cheating would be using an X2010 when the host has HP restrictions of say 200HP or something... using a duped or won X2010 shouldn't matter to other people, people will be asses online regardless, this has nothing to do with cheating...

Even though I do have two X1's, I don't use them online because it's rather pointless. I just use them to boost my Bobs up :) I think that Sony and PD are just happy that this game is getting a lot of attention and with communities that share cars and interact with each other on a daily basis. Our community has a lot of Online Race Events posted. And it's growing everyday with new ideas. Plus using the X1 in cockpit view in the rain gets me kinda sick after a lap or two :(

What's the difference if they got the X2010 by a duped gift or earning by getting to level 35 in B-Spec? Both ways require no driving skill at all so please think before you post.

Then there's the option to set weight and horsepower restrictions so people can't use an X2010.

It doesn't matter to them, imo i just enjoy the fact that i won mine (bronze, silver, gold) and laugh at the dupers that cant drive it anyway......hopefully PD does the same :D

That's a wonderful definition. It shows without a doubt that duping isn't cheating.

Who cares. PD doesn't care, I don't care, and so shouldn't you.

The car is not rare at all. You know you will eventuall get 4 of them if you play the game normally, right?

Sebastien Vettel Challenge Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Bob-Spec Lv 35. If someone wants to have it early. I'd say let them.
