So a homemade Red Bull car?

If this is meant to be a car suggestion, it's in the wrong place. Also, this has NOTHING to do with GT.

Nice! I was wondering how long it would take to someone to make a real life car based on the RedBull X(insert year here) car...

I was aiming for a working (none 1 to 1 copy) version by someone other than the people that originally designed it.

It's not really an X1 though... just inspired by, we can presume.

It does share some of the design elements of the X2014, but it's not really a real X1.

It looks pretty good though.

Another key feature is the jet-fighter inspired cockpit and the ditching of the rear view mirrors to improve aerodynamic efficiency. And after all, if the promises come true, the driver won’t have to look behind.

Yeah. Until the car breaks down and need to limp back to the pit.

it's not a suggestion, its just news about a car that is close to the X1 concept.
some of us like the X1 project and were hopping to see a real one working and even racing (not at 500km/h off corse),
this is the closest to its working materialization and redbull is still in time to get in.
they will try to brake the record at nurburgring of 06:11:13, porsche 956 (X1 also was projected to brake lap records)

i'd like to see one X1 just above the current LMP1 performances, maybe 370/380kmh max, better side views...built for endurance championship.

Then it technically (since its a motorsports project), it goes here instead of the GT6 forum.

Pretty much every modern no-rules prototype design is going to look similar - it's built to make the most out of modern physics tech after all.

I want this car in real life (one day). However, the X2010 would be the most dangerous car to drive :D

yes, the fancars are very dangerous. maybe they could be used to set a world record in strait line but not to race.
real world racing versions could be donne though. with a few adjustments, i imagine them racing with LMP1, LMP2 and LMP3 in endurance championship. the 2014 X1 standart model is close.

A fan would do nothing but slow a car down in a straight line.

well, in game it goes 502kmh

i suppose the fan helps by keeping the car on the road adding grip to tires

i always wanted to know how exacly the X1 car works or would work. the aerodynamics, the top speed, engine, fuel tank size, etc ... would it be so fast in real life?

Okay, let me run you through a few things:

502kph is nothing. That would've got you a land speed record in the 30's.

LSR cars have no need to be pushed into the ground. No power is put through the wheels.

isnt that thunderbolt from 1937 in a very different category of the X1s?
no f1, LMP1 or group c have haver donne 500kmh

Oh, so a speed record in a race class? The fan would still slow it down significantly. The X fan cars go as fast as they do because they have double the power of pretty much anything else.

would be fun to know if the inMotion 01 has been inspired by the X1 project. (single seater, closed cockpit, closed wheels, "f1 nose")
the x1 isnt practical to race with but looks prettier and fastest than the IM01 for now

I believe that these .gifs are relevant to this project...

Seriously, what crazed idiot is going to go for a lap around Nordschleife in that? They want to go faster than a Group C prototype on the most dangerous racing track yet built.

They're nuts.

I realise that Group Cs aren't that fast in comparison to today's prototypes, but there's a reason they don't run them around there anymore...

On University money...no

Also as the issue with the RBR concept (though it doesn't matter on that one) how do they plan to swap drivers in haste as needed for Endurance racing? I guess they'll have a mind-bot that will sync up to their drivers who never have to get in the car. Sort of like the Matrix. :sly:

Looks ugly. I really only care if it has a fan, but I'm pretty sure fans are outlawed in the WEC.
