Hello. I was wondering what your fastest time with the X1 on the top gear test track was. I think that I got around a 50 second time, but bear in mind that the fastest car that they have ever had on their track (the Caprio T1) only made it around in about a minute ten. In that case, 50 seconds is absoutly spectacular! Thanks!

They had an F1 car do a lap and it was around 59 seconds as I recall. I'd like to see what some of the fast guys around here can pull off...

I do remember taking my X1 around the TGTT once. I totally forget the time, somewhere between 30-40 seconds I'd imagine.

you know, i clicked on this thread, thinking that they finally built a functional X1, and that the show "Top Gear" had tested it.

To the OP's actual question, i only race the nurb and just got into De Sarthe recently. I'll use that as a justification when i say every time i race the top gear track, i end up going the wrong way at some point.

34.264 seconds in X2010

32.334 in X2011

Wow it was almost the exact opposite for me :D .. 32.628 in 2010 and 34.416 in 2011

How can a car go around in the same time that it takes a fighter jet? I mean, is that even possible? (Yes, I know that the physics back up the theory that the car could go arond the track even faster than 30 seconds, but that's beside the point.)

A fighter isn't a good track machine.

I guess the Harrier might be an OK choice given it's ability to go fairly slow, but something like a Red Bull Air racer would probably be much faster as they have lowered corner speeds than fighters (corner speed is the minimum speed where an aircraft can pull maximum g - and the Red Bull racers can pull more g than some fighters anyway).

The X1 simply has the ability to pull higher g than the aircraft at lower speeds, and then backs it up with acceleration that goes beyond most other cars.

Well the jet didn't go around the track for a start, it plotted a course roughly the same as the track a few hundred feet above it, it's not really a true fair comparison to a car taking an exact route around the track on the ground.

Can you prove that time?

I'm unable to add pics. But I can run a lobby in a couple.

EDIT: in about 15 I will make a holder for pics in my profile.

EDIT2: The best I could get was a 23 before my GT5 disc went though the window. But thats the cause of a different story.
