Its been 2 days now and i cant make that at all, Gold in all Licences, and Event but the AMG, A-Spec 31, B-Spec 33, and it didnt mean jack.

Is it only doable with a wheel ? Anyone using The Dualshock could beat it ?

Think im giving up.

I tried and tried so hard to get a bronze with the controller but could not. I now have a wheel and have passed 2 of the tracks. Then on the third I managed to injure my shoulder while making a sharp turn, lol. Im now just enjoying all the cars I bought while grinding my way to the challenge. So its back to the controller for a while. I have read somewhere on these forums that somebody managed to get some bronzes with it so must be possible.

the bronze is 2'15 in Suzuka
How can you don't beat this time with the X1 ?
You can easily to a lap under 1'10

I got all gold with my controller. the secret is drift threw all corners i accually passed sebatian. set tcs to 0 and skid recovery on and abs to 5. i makes the drifts alot faster ann easier

i got all gold like this. turn off TCS, turn skid recovery on, and set abs to 5. and drift through the corners accually passed him and won by 4 seconds.

Don't!!! there are a lot of people using Dualshock... I have no problem whit it and done 2 bronze allready (missing the Suzuka... but I'll do that also).. the fakt is the X1 is a totaly different car and you can not drive it like normal (braking, cornering ecc.)
Don't give up!!!!... at least not after only 2 days... I don't think wheel will let you do the lap any faster!!

Im pretty sure Ur talking about SebastiEn Loeb Rally Challenge, and not SebastiAn Vettel X1 one lol, dont think we have anyone with all Gold on that yet

Tyvm for raising my Will Strela, i Wont give up, mainly cause i love this game and also that is a hell of a nice car !

finally unlocked the challenge. oh my, this one is going to be a challenge with a dualshock. the main thing like any other challenge is memorize the lines and braking points.

OK, I'm calling out all the people on this forum who say that they have managed gold on the Sebastian Vettel challenge with a controller. I have golded every licence, race and special event in GT5 with a DS3, but this seems - frankly - impossible.

I popped out a 2.11:527 on the Nurburgring today - two, near-perfect laps with a DS3 at 1.05:7xx apiece. The examples I've seen of this challenge being completed on Youtube all seem to be done with wheels - none of the jerky turning that characterises D-pad use. The car in these examples also seems to be simultaneously braking and accelerating in corners, something that is near impossible with a DS3.

So: if it's actually possible to complete this with a controller, help please...feel like I'm so close, squeezing every available tenth out of every corner, but 3.5 seconds away from gold is an eternity in racing...

Tonnes of people have done this, and ive commented on about 20 of these threads. Its really not that gard to do bronze with a controller. Use steering sensetivity at about 5+ and it make your life easier. Use the search button and you'll find lots of threads with lots of advice.
Also why does no-one on this game have patience? I spent 3 days doing just the nurb and then missed out by 0.005 i still carried on. And this was back in the day of no sensetivity adjustment and much lower times.

L3 prevents that.

I did the Loeb challenge on my first try. I used automatic and ASM off. Beat all the times by at least 7 sec. I used a DFGT on my first try but with a DS3 I beat all the times by at least 3 sec. So it's not impossible.;)

If you really are about to give up there is a way to get gold on Suzuka.
It's not quite the honest way but hey, they put the hole there on purpose in the latest patch (1.10) as you couldn't do this with patch 1.09.

Do use the search engine above next time as this is like the 10th or so thread of the Vettel challenge

I can't get the ring with it but the other 2 tracks I have gold Suzuka took lots more practice monza is just timing the chicanes perfectly

I gave up trying to pass it with a controller. After I bought a wheel though I got bronze on all 3 tracks within an hour. Makes it so much easier.

Not to say it is impossible with a controller just A LOT harder than using a wheel.

Doing it with a controller is easily possible. I did all but Suzuka in a day. The only things I can think of are all aids off, acceleration and brake set to the 2 triggers, manual, sensitivity 7, and ABS 1. That's how I did it. The real key to this one is repetition. Endless repetition. It took me 2 hours straight to do Suzuka, and I had to invite a friend over to my house to have a conversation with me so I didn't get bored. Also, don't take breaks with regular cars, because you will lose your "connection" with the X2010. I.e. It will be harder for you to go back.

Bronze on the Sebastian Vettel challenge is easy as pie with a controller. It's gold that's near impossible. There seems to be about a second a lap that a wheel gives you. I must say, it ****s me a little bit that Polyphony are setting times that require the purchase of expensive wheels. The game should detect your input device and set times accordingly.

Incidentally, I set a 2:10.066 on the 'gring last night in a fit of rage. Turned SRF on and realised that it allows you to literally throw the car into corners sideways and then punch the throttle almost immediately. Gave me another five tenths a lap. Still not enough.

Thanks to speedy6543 for the Suzuka glitch. Under normal circumstances, I'd never consider demeaning my skillz by cheating, but with the SV challenge, I consider it my no-wheel civil right.

Actuely, I've seen a couple of pepole doing 3 GOLD with DS3. You just need the exact lines, exact speed, everything just so precise...
Either way, turn down the music, volume, everything, put automatic on (yeah I know it sux, but you gotta), SRF on, ABS on 0, if you skid on breaking then set back at 1, but 0 will give you beter breaking, everything alse off, and focus! :dopey:
EDIT:
NEVER (!) let off the throttle! The turbo is what gives the sucking, wich makes the car turn.

It's like this:

1 in 1.000.000 people can do it with a DS3.
1 in 10.000 people can do it with a wheel.

So yes it's possible with both DS3 and wheel, the question is: do you think you're that 1 person out of the 1 million?
I;m a good driver, golded everything with rather ease using DS3. Golded all drivers licenses in a day for example. But the Vettel challenge?
For that challenge I actually went to buy a desk so I could put my steeringwheel onto it to use with my PS3 and computer monitor. And even then it too me 3 loooooong frustrating days to get it.

Vettel challenge has got to be in my top 3 most idiotic things I ever did with computergames, and I once played a 72 hour CounterStrike LAN from which I got a pneumonia afterwards..

Seriously: Vettel is rediculous and imho has no place in a simulator like GT5.
It;s not fun, the reward is a rediculous arcade car thats no fun, this whole challenge should be removed if it were up to me.

@Merquise you explained so well. being 1 in 1.000.000 this is the point.

I got 60 gold in license part with SIXAXIS+Auto transmission+ and X throttle, square brake. But I had only got bronze in vettel challenge with SIXAXIS. I dont want to buy DFGT or something like that to pass this event. I guess need an update for this event for controller users.
