i hope you all can give me some ideas on how i could improve some more, i have only been drifting on GT 4 for around 4 days now so i do come off track a few times!

X14XE

(more to come when i have done some more cars and more tracks :)

As far as improving I would suggest just keep at it and practice every day, I was going to quote someone but I can't remember who said it but any way what they said was "Drift every day even if it gets boring if you have to call someone and talk to them while you are drifting, or have one of your friends come over and both of you can drift, just make sure you practice every day" but any way one thing I would like to see is more angle in the turns you are doing a good job now but it could be better.

Hope that helps

Thanks i will try and get more angle into my turnes, only thing i am struggling with is when i do get more angle i cant seem to keep the corner speed up and i eather stop mid corner or at the end fly off the track in one hell of a spectacular way. its quite hard using the DS2 but i will prevale

Are you looking for a critique or just let us know how you are progressing?

i would like to know if anyone has any pointers on how to improve, like what Diablomonkey said about getting some more angle onto my drifts, things like that. and a general quote on how you think im doing :)

Well, being that we're talking AWD here, the angles certainly need to be greater. Feint harder before the corner to give you a higher initial angle.

Also remember that for the most part, in AWD drifting, your line is set from entry. So get good with your throttle control :)

hey
thats pretty good but is that skyline 4WD??? becuase if it is i count that as cheating a bit.

And im wondering how did you get that vid on here did u use a flash stick or a vid camera

good drift.

hi

im not sure wat you mean by DS2 but depending on how much hp your car has say over 600 use standard road tyres the car will have a hell of a lot more understeer but though corners you will not loss as much speed and you car will do more burnouts so easy on the striaghts.

Ok, since you don't know the language of PS2 or drifting just yet or have a good understanding of how to get your videos onto the web. How about we not call someone cheating, even if it's just a bit. There is NOTHING wrong with AWD drifting.

Again, check the faqs before asking questions that are sure to have been answered. This IS a drift video forum after all.

Swift.

yes this calasnic skyline is AWD, but even being awd and as you say cheating a bit, it still has obstecals you have to overcome to drift nicely, first as swift said you have to get the throttle controll just right, (mainly because you will just eather shoot off the track of have one hell of a nasty fish tail when you come out the corner) and that you have to get the corner entry just right like swift said "Also remember that for the most part, in AWD drifting, your line is set from entry." means big git to change line.

WIKI: Drifting (motorsport), which is a sport where drivers intentionally induce oversteer, to be judged on their technique. i don't see anything here that suggests what kind of drivetrain you have to use. yes most cars in drift challenges are FR but drifting is an art and there are many brushes people use to paint their picture...

X14XE, drift with what you feel most comfortable in, Then when you feel like its time to move on to another car you probably will have a better feeling for what the car needs because you put the work in on your first car... its not like we all are getting paid to do this... keep it fun, if it feels like work your gonna miss things and not learn from them.

I'm just getting into it as well. I use the SUBARU super touring car 01'... It's AWD as well what i do is:

N3 front N2 in back
10% power to the front wheels ( to keep it closer to a FR car i am looking to go there eventually)
lower the car ( i got everything else stock )
NITRO on max ( helps to break traction when you think your gonna miss the exit )
sometimes i run the smallest turbo
overall gear i bump up 2

and final but probably the most important for learning, i put understeer aid on. i started at 10 and i'm working down till i finally get it to zero. your gonna have plenty of oversteer to learn from and as you work your way to zero you will learn more and more what you gotta do to keep a car with no aids drifting.

like i said i'm new to this as well and i don't play as much as i should. but if your looking to drift asap give this a try.

also i found that AWD cars don't need alot of counter turn to get them around the corner. it's more like a powerslide then a drift. when you got it going you might notice that turning more sometimes better to keep it going then turning back...

you must be using a webcam are you? can't be a camera because don't you only get so much time to record with them? got a cammcorder? you can use that and quality is supurb.

tried to post all at once but said i couldn't that's why there's two posts
back to back. just incase someone wants to tell me...

nice drifting, you look like you doing very well for only drifting for 4 days keep it up!👍 I also usually drift in AWD, its not as easy as it looks.

I hate those crazy almost uncontrollable fishtails you sometimes get when you don't get a very good line

Hope you dont Mind if i Quote you. Swift is absoloutely corect with the throttle and entry thing. I know this because i preferrably drift AWDs. a bad drift turn isn't ALWAYS becuse of the entry however. Im not sure if im setting my springrates corectly but I personally almost always fail to perform a good entry. BUT I always correct this by thrrottle Control. I also make Poor feint drifts, I seriously don't get how you guys do it without sliding it from performing the feint.

Anywho, Yes, as drifting in a AWD, it's more impressive to show more angle since it's MUCH easier to achieve this while holding a nice turn. I however am still in progress of Speed Drifting rather than slow angled turns with highest stage of Turbos. That's probably why I don't do good in most corners.
