Can some genious, who knows something about aerodynamics, explain me: why on earth there's a DIFFUSER in Redbull altho it's SUCKER car? I don't get it. Sucker car's bottom should be tightly on the ground so that the air can't get "inside" (in order to retain low pressure). So how is it possible that there could be lots of air travelling through and under the car?? Isn't diffuser therefore almost useless? Look at Chaparral 2J and Brabham BT46 - they don't have it. Newey, plz explain.

And here's some small q's for dessert

1.) Why is there EXP price for 24h Nurb... it should be lvl 39 race imo
2.) Does car wash have ANY actual effect?

The "sucker" zone doesn't cover the entire bottom of the car, it has an eye shape with pointed ends, probably to minimize drag and prevent pressure from stagnation building up under the car.

One unique and useful feature of the X1 diffuser is that is uses the Bernoulli effect to suck air past the rear wheels (and generate even more downforce).

I neve really noticed that "eye shape". That might explain it, thx.

Yeah, just go to Trail Mountain and flip a car over to see the underside aero.

I was curious and decided to check a few cars. GT5 is probably the best way to see the front diffusers on LMP cars.
