I got a pretty old 360, and I use the charging station for the controllers.

Technically, it's my dad's but he never uses it anymore. So, when I turn the console on it always logs in my dad's account. But, when I switch to my account, the controller goes from 3 bars of power to one. The back of the controller is a bit melted from the heat, so that may be the reason.

Anyway, any solutions?

The melty bit might also mean there is a short in the connection, and it's expending the battery somehow. If you're feeling intrepid you could open up the controller and take a look. In my experience, rechargeable setups for 360 controllers leave a little to be desired, though I haven't tried a dock. I have one of those Ni-Cad rechargeable packs that fits into the controller, then a plug that goes into the back of the controller, to the USB port, but it takes an age to work fully once plugged in, and after not having used it in a while I'm not sure the battery pack even holds any charge.

Well I can see if I can get the battery pack for it instead. I got a bunch of AA's laying around :)

Well, for some reason the controller is deciding to charge again!
