Hi all,

I've always used a USB XBox 360 controller on my PC for racing games. It's been great until recently.

Now, after playing a game for about 30 seconds, the controller changes to Player 2 (the second quadrant is lit) and I can no longer play. If I disonnect and reconnect the controller, it will work for another few seconds and change again.

A few weeks ago it would constantly disconnect and reconnect itself (I could hear the USB connect noise in the background). I downloaded the software for the controller and now i have the Player 2 problem.

Oddly, this only happens with more intense games such as NFS Shift. It works fine on GTA San Andreas.

Anyone else had issues?

Oh, I'm using Windows7 Home Premium x64.

Did you use a USB Xbox 360 controller on any other system besides Windows7 Home Premium x64? I've heard that Windows7 has a bug in it that if anything unknown tries to access the computer it shuts itself down, has anything like that happened to you?

Here's an idea: try using your Xbox 360 controller for your Xbox 360, and get a PC game controller for you PC. Just a thought, something you should really consider. Hmm....why hasn't anybody thought of this before? It's a revelation!! Think I'll give myself a pat on the back for helping you out with a REALLY OBVIOUS SOLUTION. Doh.

Uhh, the wired 360 controller was made for PC gaming as well as 360 gaming.

You should probably also change your posting style as you seem to be heading for the list in the feedback section.

I was thinking the same thing.

Sorry I can't help with the situation, only thing I can suggest really is to try another controller if you can and then you'll be able to see if it is the controller or the PC that's causing the problem.

Just tried a thustmaster which (although awful to play with) worked. It's something about the 360 Controller. I'll uninstall it in device manager and reconnect it.
