Xbox 360 Gamertag Question

Hi there I know this may seem like a silly noobish question but I've been playing Call Of Duty 4 online quite a bit lately on my 360 and my friend also has it but he's been playing it on his PS3, now I was just curious is there anyway we can play each other online with different consoles or am I just dreaming?

Sadly it's not possible.

I remember watching a video somewhere about developing games for multiple consoles, and because of the lengthy process of fixing issues on consoles, the game versions may differ slightly between the consoles thus causing issues. And the fact that they are running on two totally different networks anyway (PSN and XBL) will cause issues in itself.

Lol oh right I thought as much, was hoping that maybe it was possible. Well thanks for clearing that up anyway!
