I don't believe Mr. Deap is accusing Japanese of this, but I think he's touching on the good old, "Japanese won't buy Xbox(es), because they don't like American products". I've argued with people over this subject so many times. Most Japanese people and consumers love American products, but there are certain American products that does not sell in Japan like cars and video games. I guess the easiest thing is to say, "Oh, the Japanese are biased, they won't buy American products!".
The truth is very easy to find. Look at the video games and cars that sell well in Japan. Do they look like something Xbox or American auto manufacturers offers? No. A lot of times, it's the exact opposite. It's cars or games that most Americans would point and label "weird".
With the recently announced high MSRP of Playstation 3, "out there" uniqueness of Nintendo Wii, and Xbox's game selection growing broader, at least in the gaming department, I think the scenery will improve.
