From what I understand, the Xbox tanked in Japan because it was way too big and the games didn't really cater for what they expect in a game. It ended up selling only 450,000 units ( ). Do you think the 360 will end up like its predecessor?
Nah, the Japanese will stay loyal to Sony. The only way I could see the 360 doing well in Japan is if they sign on some good developers who produce fun, quirky games, since that is what a good chunk of the Japanese gaming market likes.
Nintendo and Sony have alot of loyal suporters in the far east.

raphically the game looks bizarre. All of the players seem to have been processed through a Japanese manga machine, given everyone a strange, cartoon look.
And the football game itself is really very poor indeed.
This is a next generation title that is far and away poorer than the best of the football titles available on the current generation of machines.
Supposedly there were 159,000 360 ready for the Japanese launch. On the first 2 days 63,000 were sold. Now that's kinda not too bad considering in the UK 75,000 were sold. But M$ could've sold easily twice that amount in the UK whereas in Japan they can't sell more that 63,000 on launch!
So actually it's quite a poor start.
