What exactly do i need to get on xbox live?
I don't want to run it through a pc, can i get a modem that the supplied wire plugs into and then straight into the phone line.
Any help for someone totaly clueless greatly appreciated.

I have nothing this is why i am asking.
Looking in the instruction manual, XBOX 360 wire goes to modem, modem to phone line.
I tried to hook it up at a mates house but his modem does not have a port for the ethernet cable. Do i need a router or can you get a modem that goes directly from the phone line to the 360.

Cannot remember what time of Broadband modem you need, but routers are so cheap these days. Even the G Wireless ones, but buy a router i reckon.

You don't need a PC. You can run it straight from the wall>modem>360.
Just make sure your modem has an output for a cat5/rj45/ethernet cable. The rest is cake!

You should be able to connect Xbox 360 live to any broadband service, i found this out. Because I thought Pipex would not support it on Xbox 1, but it did.

Did you check Routers ports, to see if you can speed it up. Aswell as letting the 360 config the IP settings by itself.

To be perfectly honest i am not sure how we go it working.

I think the console configed the IP settings with out letting you know ANK.
