XK gets extra body kit

If the new Jaguar XK's understated elegance doesn't give quite the impression you're after, Jaguar is now offering an optional body kit.

The Exterior Styling Pack adds front and rear valance spoilers, upper and lower mesh grilles (in black or chrome-effect finishes), side sill appliqués and new exhaust tailpipe finishers.

Design director Ian Callum says it gives the XK 'an even more stylish and purposeful look by deliberately lowering the visual stance of the car and creating exciting new elements.'

The pack is available from March 2007 and can be retro-fitted to XKs already on the road. There's no word yet on how much it'll cost.

So, I present the Jaguar XK Styling Pack:





Looks okay, by all means, but I prefer the looks of the XKR to an XK with a body kit.

It looks okay, but the back looks a bit elephant-ish (kind of like the Cayenne). I guess it would have to be seen in real life, since the camera adds 10 lbs. or so.... At least Jaguar is trying to be aggressive, though. It implies good things about any upcoming XK projects.
