Ok, so I've been meaning to buy this car for a while on GT5 but it just never came up in the UCD. Yesterday on the way home, I was playing GTPSP (as you do) and behold, up pops the Xsara Rally Car. After reading the discription, I was even more excited to drive it, however, I didn't have enough Crs on to purchase it :(.
Get home to see that the OCD has been updated. Sign in, my face lit up when I see the Xsara Rally Car there for the taking! :D Seeing as it's cheaper in GT5 than on PSPGT and GT4, I quickly nab it up.
What a car! This thing is truely amazing for a FF rally car. Start the engine and OMG what a noise it make. All this from a F2 Kit car!
One of my new fav cars fr sure!
 
It truly is a fantastic car. An absolute monster, and quite a bit faster than the WRC/Group A cars on certain tracks.

Very true! As above though shame there isn't any really good rally stage :(
 
It's nice to see I'm not the only big fan of the Xsara rally car. I remember using it in Professional FF event in GT3. I absolutely love it. :D
 
Wish it was rear wheel drive. But alas. It's fun to drive. I tail drag it. put lower grip tires up back and mid grip tires up front and swing that thing. I've gotten better drift scores with it than some of my FR cars, and I never touched the E brake.
 
It's in the Online Car Dealership this week if you want to buy it for use in GT Life mode.
 
I race the xsara online with racing softs. I've had it for a while now. Great car. My favorie ff in the game. And I remembered it from gt4. Also my favorite there too.
 
I bought one a week or so ago because it looked interesting but haven't gotten around To driving it yet. I'm thinking of putting racing softs on it and turning it into a circuit racer as opposed to a rally car, though. Not too many good FF racers out there in my opinion.

Also, a bargain compared to other WRC machines of similar vintage - the Corolla, Impreza, Lancer, Escort, and Focus are all ~$300,000 whereas this one's only ~$150,000!

The Xsara is my favorite FF car in the game. If I could make more adjustments to the LSD, there would be no understeer at all. But the little bit that it has, even with 387 bhp, is staggering. I kind of wish there were a few more FF race cars in the game.

Also, I got mine from a random card ticket in the first few hours of the game, so it was my go to car for a very long time.
 
Has anyone attempted a fine tuning of the Xsara? I tried a basic FF tune on it last night for the Advanced Tarmac Rally and it was pretty competitive versus 4wd competition but with a good tune I think I could beat them handily.

Any takers?

I love the idea of this car beating 4WD Rally cars - at least on tarmac.
