Yep its happened again.
First time last year, now with a new ps3 it has now died :(
so no more trading for me for awhile, i will give the people i owe tickets too when i get back on the game.
Its yet another sad day of lossing a loved one :(
 
No offense, but (I'm not the nicest of people) yet another YLOD thread? It's been done how many times? Yes, it's your PS3, but there are ways to fix it and you can always buy a new one if you get some money. I'm not sympathetic. Sorry. Since the day GT5 came out, every YLOD'd person makes a thread saying "oh noes!" instead of saying "hey, is there a good, cheap way I can fix this?"

A PS3 is just mechanical engineering a software. Loss of a loved one is nowhere near having a PS3 die. I'm sorry, but that is petty and worthless. I have my reasons for saying that.

It's just annoying this is the 2nd time it's happened. I got a replacement from Sony and it didn't even last a year.
 
It must be all that aussie sun and heat :P

You'll be back soon, least you still have your save, etc.

Thats because SONY is sending you a refurbished console! Just buy a new one!

The ps3 must be minimum 10 cm away from the walls for breath.
Dont smoke near the ps3.
and yes , read the instruction book .

I think in the ps3 manual, it says the optimum temperature is below 25 celsius. So i try and play for shorter periods during the summer. That might be a problem, when you live in a hot climate.
Thank god for the british weather! Have to say its a nice day today though.
 
FT-86 is a premium supra... the 2011 supra is called the FT-HS but not in gt5
 
I hope I'm not jinxing myself, but I have an old fatty PS3, I don't do anything special to it, dust it maybe once a month (if it's lucky). I just turn it on and play it. It was on for 2 days solid for B-spec enduros and guess what???? Nothing happened. I'm not going to start worrying (or crying in this case) if my games console packs up.
Loss of a loved one? You're kidding right?
 
im scared for this coming summer...it get preety hot where i am in mid july

Just be carefull playing, dont play too much let the PS3 breath in the Summer, im going to do that.

thanks for the tips guys, i dont really feel like putting any money into another ps3 IF this one dies.....saving up for a real car
 
I'm going to just keep playing as normal, may even see how far I can push it, I rekon fatty can take anything.

So it was a slim PS3 that broke? How much were you running it?
 
Did you bother cleaning the vents about once a month? Keep it elevated from the carpet and not against any walls or away from direct sunlight? Florida isnt as hot as Australia and mine is just warm when i use it.

i have done all that, keeping it in a good spot, dusting, even having a fan on it, so it doesnt overheat...
i had done most of the endurance races, had it on 3 days straight and nothing happened, lately i havent played, just traded tickets and was about to send 1 to a guy and ps3 just shut down.
So it could happen anytime.
Of course i was kidding haha

no just the old fatty, and only went on to trade tickets.
But it had done some Bspec 24 hours last month but always with the fan on pointing at it.

Man you gotta keep them clean
my fat ps3 lasted longer than my ps2 back in the day
it died a few months ago
but luckily I have 2 slims ;)

My PS2 has only a broken open-close top after 7 years.

I'll go check if my PS3 is in danger from EXPLODING!
