Yet Another iTunes question.

What file type are songs downloaded from iTunes? Also, can they be burned onto a CD like nay other .mp3, or is use restricted to iPods? Sorry if this sounds stupid, but I never considered looking into iTunes until about 40 minutes ago.

You would have an easier time using the Napster service. The reason for this is that if you get an mp3 player in the future, you won't be able to aac files (unless it was an ipod)

Ok, I am ready to completely shoot iTunes. Being the winamp junky that I am, I like it when my files are named a certain way. Now, since iTunes obviously wants to be a pain in my foot, it is attempting to rename my songs in my playlists that I have imported from my winamp5. What it is doing is removing the artist name from the track name because it has it in the artist field. However, I do not want iTunes to shorten my track names since I already have them sorted the way I want.

Is there a way to keep iTunes from renaming songs in my playlists? This annoys me to great ends. The only reason I have iTunes even installed is because I've received an iPod for my birthday.

Download an iPod plugin for winamp and move-on from the Mac crapware.

Use ephpod... a much better program when it comes to handling your music library. Install it directly onto the iPod and you'll be able to utilize it from any computer you plug the iPod into ;)

I really should have thought of this one. I found this plugin on winamp's website. I'll give it a try when I get around to setting up my ipod.

Thanks for the idea!

Winamp iPod plugin

Programs that do things without my permission annoy the heck out of me.

<cough>MS Office</cough>

When you're viewing a playlist in iTunes, there is an icon marked "Burn Disc". This will create an Audio CD of the playlist.

I really like iTunes.
