With the gazillion of paint trading threads there's around, I'm surprised that there's not a lot of trading parts.

After all - a set of soft slicks, a supercharger, or "fully" customisable transmission is quite expensive, especially for people which are just starting out in GT5.

To those that doesn't know - if you buy a set of tires, or most other parts - and choose not to fit them, they go straight into your items folder. Which lets you send them to a friend.

An added bonus to this, is that it can be sent, even if you have sent a car, or 5 paint chips already. 👍

so there isn't a "one per day" limit? Can they then be fitted to any car? I imagine though if it has been fitted to a specific car, then removed, it probably can't be traded or installed on a different vehicle...

Why do you need to trade it when you can simply buy it in Parts Shop...

And what's the point of saving ~10k credits max? :D

You can only trade them in they are not installed on something already. I dont trade these, but I do have a over stock of tires. Sometimes its easier to go in your items folder then back to Tuning Shop.

thanks for the info, i did wonder about that as i've sold cars that had parts fitted to them as i thought it wouldn't let you keep them, so now i can uninstall the parts and bolt them to other vehicles?

going to give it a go tonight.

GT5 is so fulll of surprises, i wonder what i'll find out next. :)

Ok, it makes sense to to trade some of these higher end parts to beginners, but what would they have that you would want? The parts are not rare at all, and max out at 36K for the soft slicks.

I've sweetened deals with tuning parts. Not as good as paints which are harder to get but they can swing a deal

It's about supply and demand, there's no real demand for these items because they are readily available to everyone and also very cheap - 36,000 being the most expensive option (for soft racing tyres).

In the early levels of A and B spec spending this amount on generally tuning your car is more beneficial than just uprating the tyres. Plus, with the inftroduction of the seasonal events money is alot easier to come buy.

Paints are more valueble because they are not readily available to everyone all the time, whereas tuning parts are.

Same as in real life for cars, what's rare and hard to find is going to have more value than what's easy to get and readily available to all.

Possibly the benefit of this would be for those who like to dupe cars as they should be able to easily double their parts. That would save a lot of money if you wanted to, say, put soft racing tires on all your cars

I'm not sure that would work... whenever I choose a part that's accidentally ended up in Items it seems to know which car I bought it for and automatically fits it to that.

New in GT6: The tuning parts guy may not always have racing softs in stock. So be sure to check back often!
