Tonight I was watching the Braves game on TBS (basic cable) and in the middle of the tenth inning, it went in to rain delay.
So TBS decides to start showing World's Wildest Police Chases - and not the new kind, but the first few (the ones before the FCC stepped in and told them to tone down the violence).
In any case, there was a great one about a fellow who walked into a Dallas Rolls-Royce dealer and told them he wanted to test drive a Bentley (he also told them he was God, but they still let him have the keys). The cops got him for reckless driving, and they started pursuing him! Finally they shot out the tyres after he rammed into the police Camaros (which, surprisingly, he outgunned without much trouble).
The best one, though, was a guy in a 1985 or so Pontiac 3000 who decided to drive down the backroads of rural Texas - he was taking the dirt road 90-degree turns so quickly and with near expertise, it reminded me so much of World Rallying! Of course, in the end, he lost it on a straightaway.
By the way, the game ended at 1:46 AM Atlanta time with the score tied. I wonder how many times that happens in baseball.
