This is the third time i've posted straight up, but i just can't hold it.

Subaru sold the Impreza with a different grille design for the first gen. Granted it was for the lower trims, but i like it. It reminds me of the 80s Passat/Taurus. I personally called it the "Flushgrill" now.

Could you imagine a WRX with that? I can!

So I just (literally just) came across the fact that Ferrari made a one-off homage to the F40 for a customer. It's based on the 296 GTB and is called the SC40. And...it is not it. At all. I...it reminds me more of the Series 2 and 3 Esprit than an F40. :yuck:

Absolutely not. I'm sorry. No. No.

EDIT: Now that I've continued to look at it and how much it doesn't resemble an F40, it reminds me so much of the Vector M12.

So until early this year me and wifey didn't know about the Nissan Note Nismo. We knew about the normal/nana-spec Notes but never NOTEiced or took NOTE of them because they look boring.

Fast forward to us considering a new car this year because the daily driver Hilux and '92 R32 Skyline (both wifeys) were starting to cost too much in fuel, and the Skyline has not long hit 250,000 km's on the odometer and is in need of decent maintenance (fuel leaking from filler pipe when full, headlights keep having issues due to a common dodgy switch on the dashboard, oil leaking from rocker covers cos the gaskets are buggered etc etc - but being a daily we haven't had time to fix anything big given we do a lot of maintenance ourselves).

Also wifey is looking for a new job and some positions she's been looking at may involve leaving the Skyline overnight in quiet industrial areas which runs the risk of it not being there in the morning...

So yeah, we started looking around online and in car yards then saw/discovered this nana car on steroids, the 2015-2020 shape Nissan Note Nismo.

Maybe there just haven't been many here until recently, but either way it really grabbed our attention and a few months later i now own one, a 2017 model year.
Mine has Autech parts too, but not sure how many other than the centre console/armrest between the seats.

Some pics of mine (More pics here)
Lots of bodywork changes from the standard Note.

Nice rear spoiler, diffuser etc.

Nismo bucket seats (the Nismo S can come with thinner recaro type seats).

Its a real beast of a car too, kept pace with a Porsche turbo around a twisty hill the other day with ease (spirited driving by him and me, but if he wanted to he could of course have left me behind).
It corners really flat, pushes you back in the seat in sport power mode and is a nicely tuned sporty/firm ride on the road over bumps etc.

We're both wondering if its actually faster than wifeys Skyline, including around corners (her Skyline is a GTS manual coupe, 155hp factory), as it certainly feels like it.

The Note has a 3cyl petrol engine which only powers the electric motor. That and regenerative braking is how the car can drive solely on electric power.

I know that this may not fit the topic too well, but we'd genuinely not noticed or seen any of these around town until we started looking at a new car, and we're both proper car enthusiasts - there's still not a lot around, but we've seen a few Nismos and a lot more nana spec versions since.

Quick fire round of random schnid i discovered from the past months or so

Cadillac Jacqueline, a showcar designed by Pininfarina, i've heard somebody likening it to an European Eldorado.

39563.webp

Ford Pinto Pangra, a conversion of the Pinto that offered this sloped front (it has pop-ups too!). Only 50 of these were made from my research

39564.webp

Volkswagen Logus and Pointer, two Brazilian-market VWs based off the Ford Escort Mk.V. they were built off a joint venture the two had in that country.

39565.webp
39570.webp

Ford Ixion, a rebadged version of the Mazda Premacy, sold in Japan and China from what i've seen

39571.webp

Chrysler Saluki, a prototype of what Chrysler's version of the Humvee would've looked like.

39575.webp

That's all i can give you!
Sorry if any of these had been here before!

Studebaker had more legality to it than GM did... GM had to pay their way out of trouble over the H2...

(AM General is actually about all thats left of Studebaker {aside from the STP name} GM had permission to build and sell a civilian Hummer but never had any permissions for the H2, got sued. wound up pretty much buying AM General to get out of trouble.

@05XR8 Built by Andy Rouse, never took off as they wouldn’t have been able to compete with the TV package BTCC had.

Good stuff. I got the pics from the Rouse FB page, but it wasn't elaborated why.
I think I've seen it before maybe someone posted it a while ago.

Man, it would have been cool. All the cars that would have participated in the article below!

The Proton Tiara. While most (if not all) Protons of that time were Mitsubishi-based, this one was based off the Citroen AX.

Here's what the original AX looks like, the shapes are similar, but it's more similar in shape to the-

-sportier versions of the AX, like this GT for instance, the body cladding and notably the rear wheelwells being a full circular curve matches to this 3-door GT variant.

I intentionally specified 3-door because although the 5-door GT has the same bells and whistles, the rear wells aren't an exact match (despite the Tiara only ever being sold as having 5-doors)

The Ford Laser Lynx.
Some weird small Ford coupe-hatchback thing, i've seen it sold in Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, and even saw one image of it being spotted in Japan!

It was actually a rebadge of another car, the Mazda Familia Neo.

That front reminds me of either the Bugeye Impreza or the Hyundai Tiburon/Coupe......

Isn't this the rebadge job of an early 90's Mazda 323F ?
Yesterday I saw some of these Mazdas for sale in the EU, and the Mazda front fascia is way better, that TEMU's '96 Celica

Hope it gets a spot in Gran Turismo 2: Beige Edition.

Found out today that they sold the Morris Marina in North America as an Austin Marina
